in a land of myth and a time of magic

So this is my first colouring tutorial. This is one of my older colourings and I used it a lot on my older posts. This colouring is very simple if you know how to adjust the layers. I make my gifs from the DVDs so if you’re using a downloaded version you may need to adjust the overall brightness.

STEP ONE

Load your frames on to Photoshop, crop, etc, etc. I will assume that you know how to sharpen your frames at once. I sharpen my frames by going to Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen. These are my settings:

STEP TWO- LEVELS

STEP THREE- CURVES

Point 1: Output- 205, Input- 163 Point 2: Output- 111, Input- 72

STEP FOUR- BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST

STEP FIVE- VIBRANCE

STEP SIX- CURVES 2

Point 1: Output- 162, Input- 152 Point 2: Output- 72, Input- 72

STEP SEVEN- SELECTIVE COLOUR

STEP EIGHT- COLOUR BALANCE

Midtones

Shadows

STEP NINE- GRADIENT MAP

Its’s just the black&white gradient map found in your presets

Mode: Soft Light Opacity: 30%

And that’s it!
