Imagine a frisky, bored Bilbo sending Thorin a platter of eclairs when he's been in meetings too long.
Thorin pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, it had been a long enough day already, although this was his was meeting it was dragging on. No one could agree on any of the proposals, people were starting to raise their voices, he could feel the beginnings of a headache forming. Many who were not directly involved in any of the decision making had left at some point, including Bilbo. Thorin glanced at the empty chair to his right. Bilbo would have had this sorted at least an hour ago.
Almost as if the hobbit knew Thorin was thinking of him, the door at the far end of the room opened and in walked Bilbo carrying a large platter of ĂŠclairs. Everyone turned to watch him make his way to the head of the table and place the food in from of Thorin, inviting him to take one.
âYou missed lunch, I thought you might me hungry.â Bilbo explained, gesturing again at the cream filled pastries.
âIâm not going to eat all of these.â Thorin replied quietly, as he leaned forward he shot a weary look at the dwarves, elves and men also sat around the table watching the interaction with great interest.
The hobbit sighed and rolled his eyes. âTheyâre not all for you, just because youâre King doesnât mean you canât share.â He grinned then. âBut you do get to choose first.â
Thorin stared at his husband for a second, then, without looking away, picked an ĂŠclair from the top of the great pile. Bilbo made his way around the table, making polite small talk with everyone as he handed out the food, when the platter was empty save for a single sweet, he sauntered back to Thorins side and placed a kiss on his cheek.
âDonât be too long,â he whispered into the Kings ear. âIâm bored and I miss you.â
âIâll try and wrap this up soon.â Thorin promised.
Bilbo gave a small hum of approval and walked back to the door, when he reached it, he peered over his shoulder and caught Thorins eye just as he took a bite of his food. The hobbit picked up the remaining ĂŠclair from the platter in his hand and ran his tongue along the length of it before taking a bite. Thorin stared, a small amount of cream sat on Bilbos lip, though it didnât stay there for long. That tongue darted out again and licked it away in a slow, sweeping movement.Â
Thorin tried to swallow the food in his mouth, but his throat had dried up and he ended up choking on it instead. By the time he managed to compose himself, Bilbo had gone, but his silvery laughter could be heard echoing down the hallway.
