Alecto and Viago de Riva! Aren’t they such a lovely and totally not at all suspicious couple at the party?

My first Dragon Age comm and it’s made me so happy!

One of my favorite scenes I wrote was the inspo for this wonderful art I commisioned from @anam-mana and smh I wanted to share it

Contrary to both his custom and personal preference, they had arrived late to the party. It hadn't been his fault, or at least, not entirely: he was helping her finish dressing when things got a little out of hand, and then the dress had to be replaced with one that wasn't ripped at least. He tugged down his shirt, neatly pressed until that afternoon, to remove the wrinkles that had formed after leaving it lying around anyway. He blushed slightly at the memory, and cleared his throat. Good thing punctuality in Minrathous wasn't the most valuable virtue either.

He glanced sideways at his date. Alecto looked splendid, not that he could put a single blemish on her appearance, even favored by the faint blush that still populated her cheeks. According to her custom she had braided her hair in a complex pattern, done in such a swift and accurate manner that only years of practice could justify. Her clothing left rather little to the imagination. Alecto justified it on the grounds that it would put anyone's guard down and she may have been right, Viago himself found it rather difficult to look away. He watched as she chose a glass full of amber liquid offered to her by one of the servants, which Viago declined with a gesture. Alecto took him by the arm, orienting her body to the side he wasn't looking at. A seemingly affectionate gesture, but one that allowed them to have a perfect control of what was happening around them: there was no need to pretend disinterest, and both analyzed the rest of the attendants in the same way they knew they were being observed.

Has anyone ever discussed that Byleth probably does NOT think they're like, 20 at the start of the game? Rhea and Seteth talk about "the fire twenty years ago." Jeralt mentions having "met [their] mother many years after leaving the monastery." It's canonical Byleth does not know about their mother because Jeralt did not talk about her, did not have a good grasp of time, and I think at one point mentions not even knowing exactly how old they are (it's been a bit since I've actually played the game, but I think it was a conversation with Seteth). If it were a "couple" years it'd be like 2, if it were a "few" it'd be around 3 or MAYBE 4, "many" implies anywhere 4 or 5+ years after Jeralt left the monastery.

Right?!!?!?! :D Not just that but fact that his character is super logical and is centered around building friendships and strong bonds! I don't think that romance is something that he would care too much for with everything he has on his plate to realize his dream.

Him being demiromantic makes so much sense to me because of his bond with Byleth. They grew to trust each other and form a strong emotional relationship. They have a relationship that goes further than friendship, standing by each other through it all. It was like a "Oops! I didn't even try to catch feelings, but here we are! It's not too bad, actually!"

This piece of dialogue from the final chapter of White Clouds really makes me think that they could even be queerplatonic partners:

Of course, this is all just headcanons and personal bias towards claudelth as a couple! (Also, a hint of me projecting so I can relate to Claude even more lol)
