Is been a while since my last Valeera x Illario screenshot, so...

Personal life is being... bitchy so to say, but still, working on my fics keeps me sane, more or less.

Small snippet of the "Music modern AU", chapter #2, featuring Velasco [as usual <3] but also @wickedadaar Shokrakar!

“Sorry, I just said hello to a friend,” he said when he reached them, placing a hand on her shoulder. He saw the Qunari’s eyes follow the movement but looked more amused than annoyed. 

“I wasn’t expecting this,” he said then with a hearty laugh. “You hadn’t told me you had a suitor, sweetheart. I’d already got my hopes up.”

Alecto, however, didn’t seem quite so pleased, but raised her eyebrows as she looked at the hand that had settled on her shoulder in a somewhat possessive manner. 

“Don’t be silly,” she said, shaking her head. “Vel, meet my friend Shokrakar. We shared a flat when I was at music school.”

“Not just a flat,” thought Velasco. So this was the famous Shok. He certainly hadn’t missed the way he was looking at her, though it didn’t seem to hold any hint of romance. All the better. 

“Sorry if the joke went a bit too far, but making her mad is just too much fun,” his smile was infectious, his charm more than obvious. Alecto certainly had good taste. “I’m still waiting for someone to manage to snag this little minx one day.”

Alecto snatched the glass Shok was holding and took a long swig. “I’m standing in front of you, in case you haven’t noticed. And don’t lecture me, Mr Commitment-Phobe.”

Cuervo smiled, feeling more at ease. If Shokrakar saw him as a potential match for her, it meant his chances were still intact. 

“Come on, gorgeous, you know I’m too much of a catch to belong to just one person,” he winked at Cuervo. “A work of art has to be enjoyed by everyone. I’m sure your friend feels the same way I do.”

What did he mean? Or was he flirting with him, too? Velasco decided to play along. He clinked the bottle he was holding against the stranger’s. “Sharing is caring, ” he added, with a mischievous tone and a sidelong glance at Alecto. 

“You’re the absolute worst. Both of you,” she replied, crossing her arms. “If I’d known you’d get on so well, I’d have stayed at home.”

Alecto's reboot story keeps going on! I don't want to wait any more to post this chapter, as it features one of her very best friends: Micah, our lovely elf created by @only-slightly-terrified. Also, thank you so so much to her because she was my [much needed!] beta-reader!!

“You’re smarter than I thought,” Micah confessed, both cheeks full of olives. “I thought you were mad, or worse, that they’d catch us. I’m sure if that happened and he found out, Viago would call me stupid.”

Viago. A name Alecto knew well. Micah sensed her curiosity. “He’s promised to be my mentor, you know? That’s because he’s realised how incredible I am,” he added proudly. “When I marry him, I’ll tell him you’re very clever too.”

Alecto’s purple eyes widened, making her look like a little frog. “When… what?”

He nodded firmly. “His father is the king. I’ll be king consort and we’ll live in a huge castle, and everyone will have to suck up to us if they don’t want me to have their heads chopped off.”

This is so so so interesting!! I've intentionally left this couple for the last one because I have a lot of ideas.

First things, in the Cuervolecto universe, Alecto is training with Emmrich because she wants to improve her magic AND see the spirits (Spite, but also Sammy's own demons).

But if we want an alternate universe... Is a weird pairing, but it could be a succesful one indeed. Alecto would be fascinated about necromancy - not offended, like Lucanis, about someone "undoing" their work - and even more about using the power of the dead. And I can see Emmrich enjoying how passionate she is about living life fully, enjoying everything. Plus.. he will be the one who makes her feel at peace, and his delicate manners will do her a lot of good. And there's Manfred, of course, Alecto will love him a lot and release her goofiness with him.

I still want to mention I had in mind a timeline where Alecto turns evil, in a way that ressembles Cersei Lannister, not crazy at all but pure selfish and cruel if needed. I roleplayed her a bit this way, but left things undone because *reasons*. Still I loved how things were going with her, it felt quite natural, so to say. If we put Emmrich in this equation - his lessons -, it could include indeed necromantic magic, high level alchemy and things that go BOOM

"A runaway and an unexpected ally" is the title of the 2nd episode of Alecto's story reboot!

10 yo Alecto is fed up of punishment and bullies, so she has decided to run away as she previously did from the orphanage. Or, at least, so she thought, until a certain someone caught her.
