NONPROFIT WHOREGANIZATION

All that pissed me the fuck off as someone who got into grad school. Theres a comment that said STEM is actually doing a bit better about not being as racist than shit like arts and design, so thats probably why theres a good chunk of STEM are POC here in USA. And YET better does not mean good. In my prospective line of work, while my race and ethnicity is overrepresented, theres still others like black and latino populations that are severely underrepresented. Ever since before getting into this program im in, i was pissed off at the stupid privileged fucking prerequisites. The only reason i got in was because i was lucky enough my mom worked in healthcare and had connections. And everyone who i fucking know got in through some sort of connection. Before that, i tried to reach out myself to clinics and other facilities independently and barely anybody threw me a fucking bone. I was lucky enough to work closely with a faculty member who used to be the head of admissions and he said something that made me realize "oh the people in charge of letting people in are out of fucking touch" because he said "it tells people how resourceful you are!" ?????? NO BITCH IT TELLS US WHO ALREADY HAS NEPO BABY CONNECTIONS ARE YOU BEING GENUINELY FUCKING SERIOUS. This white cishet man also keeps bringing up AI as the answer to EVERYTHING. Having trouble with your DISSERTATION PAPER? FEED IT TO THE FUCKING AI, HE SAYS.

Ive always hated academia because i thought it was filled with out of touch LOSER NERDS with an overreliance on LETTERS behind their name for a sense of SUPERIORITY they never HAD in their LIVES otherwise.
