For over 4 months my son has been going to a new school. He loves the school, but hates being dropped off. This results in lots of morning drama, throwing himself on the floor in front of the teacher and all other kids, flailing, kicking, and screaming for mommy not to leave. I've tried a variety of methods to resolve this: the short goodbye (sit him down and walk out as he screams), the long goodbye (playing with him for awhile before leaving), the reassurance (talking about the fun he will have), the distraction (Oh look at that!). Nothing was working. It all resulted in the same high-drama ordeal. Until.... he solved it for himself.

He told me 2 days ago he was going to "be the T-Rex" when I asked him if he would walk into school like a big boy. He loves dinosaurs, but I had no idea what this meant. He did just that. He stomped and roared his way into the school, without even a glance back at me. It was his way of showing his confidence.

Batman really can fly.
