Hello, my name is Anya and I'm am an outsider. From the very first days of my life (the earliest I can remember starting to express myself is an age of 3) I had a strong will and need to express myself. In as many ways as I could find: clothes, dance classes, school theatre, singing etc. I wasnt born with a pencil in my hand, struggled with drawing a carrot during the drawing class in school, however later I started studying drawing from a local painter and the whole journey began. I always felt weird about myself, my image, how I look and what should I wear. In my country, where I was born and live till now(Lithuania), people used to stare at me even in the bus on my way to school, when I was wearing red tights or a bright colored headpiece, no matter what the scale of my self-expression was, they ALWAYS been staring. I got used to it and actually learned not to react at those staring faces at all. Because my inner artist always told me not to stick with a crowd if I want to stand out and make something extraordinary within my lifetime. And that's what I did, throughout my school years I actually managed to cooperate and make friends with many great people, I even managed not to be bullied that much(comparing to other classmates), however I always felt the pressure of being not like others. It's not that you make yourself feel like that, it's just the inner voice, thats always with you 24/7. From a very young age I felt that my goal and mission in life is to leave a mark in art field (whether it would be painting, performing or other expression form). Nowadays we are witnessing the outsider/nerd/freak fashion reneassance. Actually it means that being a freak/outsider became fashionable and all the "pretty girls n boys", who never actually felt how to be a real outsider pretend to be such, wearing bigframed glasses, nerdy haircuts or shortened pants. And the interesting part is, that actual outsiders and creative souls are staying true to themselves, not relying on what is trendy now or will be in the future.
