🍃🏹➳ Betty indeed had the bar set low if she considered Huntress to be selfless and kind. While not as two-faced or conniving as other wizards, she still did have a ‘look out for number one’ mentality, and really tended to help people if it wasn’t too much trouble for her.
No, those kind of heroics were behind her; leave it to someone like Finn to go life and limb out to save or help people. He was the real selfless and kind hero Ooo needed.
“Medium pizza, meat-lovers.” Judging from Betty’s reactive look earlier, Huntress decided it best to just order something with her next-favorite instead of anchovies– some people didn’t like the smell and would sometimes even gag watching her eat. The woman seemed pretty unstable enough as it is, no need to make her trip even more.
The cashier gave a thumbs up, and rang up their orders seperately. The half-dryad, fishing out her wallet, paid for the food up front, and recieved two clear cups for them to fetch themselves water from the soda machine.
“Here,” she said, holding the cup out for her.
“You could got anchovies, you know. I don’t care.” The auburn hair wizard smiled and grabbed the cup from her hands. Everything felt like it was back to normal except, for the whole Simon thing. “Simon would love this!” It wasn’t long before a tear rolled down her cheek, there was escaping the thought of him. Even in her sleep she would dream of them, how everything use to be before this whole crown situation.
She wiped the tear away hoping she wouldn’t notice and went over to get a drink. She had plenty of stories to tell about her adventures with Simon, How they would slow dance in the kitchen while baking and how they would cuddle and fall asleep watching movies. However, it seemed like a waste tell her. Betty knew as soon as she his name, she would get stopped. Maybe she was jealous of their extremely close relationship and how they would do almost everything together. Yeah, that had to be.
Her obsession with the Ice King and turning him back was killing her. Even if she didn’t want to admit it. It was stripping her bare of her personality and everything that made her likable. However, she didn’t notice or maybe she didn’t care.
It was time to think about something to talk about that wasn’t Simon. She began to think about something while filling her glass with water. Almost everything she could think of would lead to Simon somehow. While caught up in deep thought, the water began to overflow out of her cup. It seemed as if Betty didn’t notice what was going on at all as the water began to spill all over the floor.
