50% People calling Rudy Knighters Misogynistic, Sending hate content or ranting about how anyone who believes it is stupid and should be murdered because they decide to replace "obviously canon Dess Knight" (Which does have a shit load of evidence for it, can't deny that. And making Dess Not Have A Role in the story would still be misogyny, yes you are right there) with a crippled man. Which is odd because if Rudy Doesn't Do Anything in the narrative besides exist to die for some Noelle angst then like, isn't that the most basic form of written into the narrative ableism and reduces a father figure down to a one note plot point in a game where Toby expressly said he's focusing on fathers? If we look at this in a "is it {hate term}" way then it's a loose loose for where Toby can't not be one or the other. He's either misogynistic because Dess isn't all important or Ableist because Rudy isn't all important. Feels kinda stupid to suggest either option then

Personally I see it as Rudy Knight because otherwise he's literally going to do nothing (Toby has already done Dead Father Figure Revives In A Dark World And Becomes A Mentor Figure. We don't need a rehashing of Susie and Gerson but with Rudy and Noelle. That plot beat has already been done and Susie would stop Noelle before it happens because she has experienced the near exact same thing), Carol making the plan (She's the one on the phone in 95% of all the light world calls because who else shows up after they say they'd be right there. I'm debatably on the hinge about whether it was her or Eram who interrupted Gaster in the goner maker sequence at the start because. If it was her then that explains the Red Heart stuff but gives the big plot part of "How the FUCK did you do that?". If it is Eram then that does give Kris a FOURTH fucking allegiance (Working with the Holiday Parents + Working with You + Working with Susie and Ralsei + Working with Eram) unless one of these is false. Dess is the lost girl and has SOMETHING going on similar to Gaster in Undertale (How he has the in code stuff relating to spoiling secrets, she has the in code stuff about not forgetting) + the Don't Forget Song (so literally the entire games premise and major influence on every dark world due to said leitmotif playing in every dark world) + a relation back to Undertale Asriel where she is the cause of everything yet not revealed till the final act.

Honestly stuff like this happens a lot, like. And idk if it's rude to reblog and yap about vent art so I'll delete this if asked.
But yeh this sort of thing happens a lot, the "tribalism" extreme out of theories and anything considered popular in the fandom (this counts for all fandoms, like I could make this post about Tessa Murder Drones fans but this post isn't about her, she's just another example). People group up because something is popular and has evidence behind it and then use that as an excuse to bandwagon and hate on other opportunities. And since the popular/major theories are popular and major, there's more people following them. Which means there's a higher amount of people who actually get annoying and rude over it because there's a higher base number of people there.
Plus the internet generally being what it is sometimes.
Really I think the best thing that could happen is most everyone learning to have transient ideas around a character. Like. I do believe Eram is the demon Kris and Catti summoned But I can see the appeal of other options like Horned Headband Eram or Dess Eram (it's come up once or twice and like, yeah why does this have some plausible evidence Toby what are you doing?)
Same for the knight, I've got stocks in Asriel Knight and Rudy Knight. (And while I do have negative opinions of very very specific takes on some I really don't go and harrass people over it, I'll just complain here or to a friend.)
Oh it also just comes down to being polite on the internet, that's definitely a part of it.

Honestly I really fw the idea of the narrative trying to replace Ralsei with Noelle in chapter 6, in the sense of, idk maybe Susie unconsciously doing so just for Ralsei to finally explode and scream that she doesn't want to be replaced. I think it would be an important part in her character arc, since she's been learning to see herself as an equal and that she deserves to have opinions and preferences. I think her blowing up and being able to let this negative feelings out would be very beneficial for her.
Plus, this could also be good for Kris, since they already feel like they are being left behind, and are very scared of Noelle and Susie's relationship obscuring theirs and Susie's friendship, so maybe seeing that Ralsei is going through something similar would make them feel less alone.
Also Ralsei would be saying the quiet part out loud for the fandom lol.

and then there's sonam wangchuk. if you've watched 3 idiots, he's the real engineer the character was based on. built solar schools in ladakh. invented ice stupas so himalayan villages have water. spent his whole life on education. he's 59 and he's been on hunger strike for 17+ days now. reporters went to see him this week and he was too weak to talk. and the troll armies are calling him "anti national" and "foreign funded". a man starving himself for other people's children. that's the thing here, anyone who asks a question is suddenly a traitor.
it's not one incident, it's everywhere you look:
• infrastructure worth thousands of crores failing within months of the ribbon cutting. tunnels collapsing in regions where heavy rain is a guarantee, not a surprise.

I need to know what is the most prominent interpretation. What is ERAM? What is ERAM in the Light World?

Personally I see the Mantleholder as a the "demon" Catti and Kris apparently summoned ages ago. More approximately a Darkner recreation of the emotions at the moment of the summoning like how the titans are just Fear, and other mix Lightner/Darkners seem to be appearing more often (Shadowmen (Darkners patterned off the shadows of a light world object), Sound Of Justice (Darkner patterned off of a dark world decoration rather then a physical light world object as their is no Gerson statues in the light world), Pink and Maddie (Lightner ghost possessing a Darkner), All of the Seven Flowers (Planters empowered by constant care and love) and such).
- it'd fit with how Toby Fox cited Omori (a game with a final boss which is yourself but evil (summarised horribly by me here but yeah)) as something that had already tread ground he wanted Deltarune too, and how the Mantleholder knows Kris intimately enough to actually ragebait them to a degree. (Aqua also exists and shares a lot of the Mantleholder's kris'isms and everyone has already yelled about how that is thematic and important)
- it'd explain why it has fire and cat connections (Fire through Kris and the dreemurs, Cat through Catti) through a "Darkners patterned after a particular event/trauma" sort of way. Which doesn't feel that far of a stretch for the story to reveal especially with how the Mantleholder said it'd be back/had work to do and how chapter 6 is probably going to not be as happy as the last ones. It was Chapter 3 that introduced Planter's with the hidden cactus so why couldn't it also be chapter 3 that secretly introduced some other types of weird Darkners. (The Knight comes to mind as another weird Lightner/Darkner situation)
- fits with the fact the boss's spites are called Shadow Mantle in the game AND in the fight the mantle itself has No Hitbox (eg you can walk through the mantle without taking damage) because it doesn't have a physical form. Instead holding form in whatever object it possesses, eg your video game character really was just scrapping with a peice of cloth in a life or death situation
- fits with why it is sometimes called Nightmare in the code and it's direct reference to one of the Zelda games with its "You cannot defeat us, let's rumble" line. With "Us" being used in a Mantleholder + Shadow Mantle it's possessing/holding way and as a parallel to the player. You know how a lot of people playing the game say "Us" when referring to Kris and the fun gang, same sort of thing there.
I can't entirely red string connect every thread about the Mantleholder there is to make this an irrefutable take (As other candidates like Asriel Mantleholder, Dess Mantleholder, Horned Headband Mantleholder, Prince alone in deepest Dark Mantleholder or Ice E Mantleholder all have their own bags of connections and reasonings), but still wanted to share at least one of my plausible takes on the Mantleholder considering its place in the story as an actual threat
So to actually answer this uhh. "I don't think the Mantleholder exists in the light world".

Personally use Mantleholder more then Nightmare or Eram because Nightmare isn't used enough for people to know what I'm talking about and I don't wanna clarify everytime while Mantleholder gets it across and Eram is a name just waiting to be deconfirmed in game as soon as they return. Plus the mystery identity they have lends itself to a "title" sort of name that Mantleholder is (nightmare sort of fits that too because it's a name that describes a thing instead of a name that describes a person foremost.)
All three names have merits for their use lmao, but agreeing more MFs need to know about nightmare being a related name to this freak
