AU idea: New (unwanted) Neighbors

Inspired by those who draw the vessel as the corestrings weird asf kid; here I give you corestrings as tired parents of three utter WEIRDOS.

Anyway: Dr./Researcher Gaster and School board/soccer mom soul who does not fuck with whatever HOA might exist within Deltarune. Featuring their three wonderful re/incarnations: Vessel (ageless), probably homeschooled (or not, God knows what they'd teach this kid), Chara (like 13 or smth) who def chases Berdly with sharp pencils, and Frisk (8?) Who def enjoys staring at people until they become visibly uncomfortable.

so we went from pirate to gru, huh...

i feel like when it comes to gaster, people latch a little too much on any shiny new piece of information, even if it's the vaguest thing possible. it's okay to admit we don't know what's going on for certain when it comes to him, because that's exactly the point of his character — attaching oneself to confirmation biases or loose details is exactly what poisons one's perception of a fictional character. there is a story being told, so we have to consider the big picture. To put it simply, i have a lot more questions now LOL

for instance, if we consider the forgotten man to be the wingdings from that world, isn't our Friend(s) actually being his mischievous pet(s) contradictory when he's also known to be in hiding, appearance a mystery and now has a guard dog? Either he knows what to do with those eggs to win the beast's favour, or he's at least a little scared of cats too. Which makes for great parallels with Alphys (a known cat person with a huge plural dog in her basement), as well as with Papyrus (always dealing with dogs munching on his bones rather than cats taking away his one forgettable egg). Maybe the skelefamily had a squabble over cats or dogs in a past life. Turns out, the ideal pet for them is, in fact, a rock.

as for me, I strongly believe our little friend(s) have much deeper ties with noelle and the FIND HER quest. even if I am a cat person myself and enjoy the idea of Wingdings with a horde of kitties begging him for treats... did you know eggs can make them hypoallergenic?

A lot of people draw gaster either as a very skinny and boney looking dude or a weird blob thingy

Ur gaster design is very far from that, so I'm curious why u designed him the way u did? (He looks a bit less creepier than what he looked liked in that one comic where he plans a literal ice apocalypse on humanity (i really like that comic it's one of my favourites of yours). He looks a lot more? Broad? Could be the shoulder things from whatever he's wearing but he still LOOKS bigger in size in general.

I'm curious as to why in general :DDD

The way I designed Gaster's 'post-shattering' form came from my idea that this form is a result of Gaster desperately trying to recreate his old self, but only from vague memories, incomplete parts, and descriptions. He remembers being tall and imposing, so he's made himself tall and imposing. He remembers that there were lines on his face (his prominent cheekbones), and he's given himself lines on his face. Everything he's done is an effort to desperately mimic the man he used to be, and maybe at times he can approximate it fairly closely, but it's a fragile illusion.

To borrow a description from The Doctor - The Stranger (a fic you all should read, it was written by a cool dude).

His previous observation held true; the stranger looked to be a constructed thing. From where he sat, it looked as if his head was an oblong orb, yet with how flat his face looked, it seemed that perhaps even that was an illusion. The harsh lines of his black coat, the ink-like structure of that strange smiling face, reminded him of the way children would draw people.
