Ngl I feel like nobody has really taken advantage of the fact that canonically Berdly has body dysphoria.
It's caused me to brew up a kerdly fic in my brain where Kris and Berdly long to have each other's bodies, as Kris wants to be a monster and Berdly wants to have a human body, as seen with his dialogue and his golden statue.
The statue honestly is a great reflection of his insecurities. His body dysphoria is reflected in that he wants a featherless body that shows off ample skin, with only the necessities covered by a conventionally attractive speedo. He feels too weak on his own, and not in control of his life, shown by the large, muscular portions of his body. Another example of wanting a different body is wearing shoes, as in every single sprite berdly does not wear shoes because of his talons. The Queen statue shows his desire for someone to want and/or need him; to have someone who appreciates him. Given Queen's parallels with the Fun Gang's parents, it also shows Berdly's parental neglect from going without praise. The IQ is the most direct part, as intelligence is Berdly's lifeline, the thing that he feels makes him special and worthy of appreciation.
The fact that Berdly still has his head in this statue is only because we need to recognize it as Berdly. If Berdly went all in at having the Rebels make a statue of his humansona, it would likely have a conventionally attractive, masculine face to go along with his body.
The attractiveness is another aspect, as Berdly feels that the only reason people his age would be nice to him, is that they have a crush on him, as he cannot fathom being genuinely liked for who he is.
I could see a Berdly free from thinking of others and preforming being manly & masculinely attractive dropping the masculinity and going all in on being human, perhaps maybe becoming nonbinary like some other human we know. (hint hint, nudge nudge).
Berdly might also find the human body more appealing because of his relationship with kris, where they hang out a lot and both have likely seen the benifits and pitfalls of their individual species.
One last thing I thought was interesting was that this clothing would be great for swimming, something that a bird monster might have trouble doing, given how he's weak to the cold, along with feathers potentially getting soaked and dragging him down. This could suggest that he has a passion for swimming, but is unable to because of the species he was born as.
When Kris gives Berdly the plush of himself with nipples, Berdly is so overcome with joy at being gifted something that he creates a truce with Kris in front of every other main character, ignoring his reputation, rivalry, and how others think of him after getting confirmation that Kris supports Berdly in his dysphoria and truly cares, especially given that everyone else is surprised, including the usually friendly Ralsei.
Anyway, thought it was interesting at 1 am while watching another ch2 playthrough :P
