One thing I really like about Julie and the Phantoms that I keep forgetting about is that all three of the boys have their moments of being the Doofus (tm) in different situations. At the same time, each of the boys can and will be the Practical/Smart One at varying times.
It's so much nicer than the cliche "trio but one is the Dumb Comedic Relief and the other two are smarter" that they could have easily fallen into.

I'm still in my Alex appreciation hours. Coz like,,, there's just something about him y'know? He could have so easily been made into this annoying or offensive trope but they balanced his character so well!!
He's the most sarcastic, judgemental, and rational-minded one out of the boys, but he's not some 'facts over feelings, I just say it how it is' douchebag. Instead he's genuinely compassionate and sensitive to people's emotions, and he uses his more bluntly honest habits to be sweet and kind to the people he cares about. And while his emotionality is sometimes made light of by the narrative, his anxiety is a consistent part of his character that's an important part in developing his relationship with Willie
He's openly gay from the start and he's not a Not Like Other Gays who prides himself on seeming straight or a Gay Best Friend who's only there to be flamboyant and sassy. He's a drummer who's got a somewhat 'masculine' sense of style and mostly hangs out with other guys, but he's equally interested in more 'feminine' things like dance and rainbow jewellery and the colour pink. His relationship with his gender expression and gender roles is unapologetically queer
Alex is just such a great character and I absolutely adore him

I just really feel like they would real curious what happened when Luke sat on the piano bench with Julie and wondered how Luke was gonna āØput the movesāØ on Julie this time bc as supportive as friends as they are they would also poke fun of him later for it. Just be genuinely curious of how Luke flirts bc homie has never put music below anything and the one time it is second is bc of a girl.
Alsoā¦ at the end of Edge of Great did Luke poof away bc from our perceptive thatās what it looks like but since itās the audiences perceptive and not Julieās so either he poofed away after the music ended, or he was still there when the music ended with Julie at the bench to us it just looks like he poofed away bc itās what the audience saw. I get how the ghost physics work I just- thereās questions about like whatās the truth of like their visibility to Julie and if they like are still present
For Edge Of Great, it looks to me like Julie's still making eyes at Luke after he disappears to the crowd and the applause actually kind of startles her a little, so either her vivid imaginative brain was working hard there, or he was just still sitting on the bench with her. Either way, how cute.
Aside from this performance, the boys really only stay visible long enough to take a bow with Julie and then let her as the lead singer and star have the spotlight to herself.
Now that you pointed that out, she also does a shrug with her shoulders too while her head is still turned towards Luke WHICH IS LOADED BC- going with the belief that he was still on the bench with her bc thatās what it looks like
The next time we see Julie is in the kitchen with her family and then the next we see Luke is when him and the guys are playing with the basket ball but like- WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE THEY WERE SEPERATE
Bc in that moment Julie is startled by the applause and Luke probably was too so they probably both looked and realized āAh right, audience presentā like what was the looks they looked at each other with after that moment with each other on the piano bench bc that was definitely a āwe didnāt practice that at rehearsalā type thing
