there’s a misconception that grief only happens when we lose people. this is not true. we can grieve circumstances, relationships, missed opportunities. in fact, sometimes when you find yourself plagued with waves of emotion from sadness to melancholy you may be grieving yourself. the version of yourself that you might have been if things had been different, or if only you had said something, or if someone had stood up for you.

This is a legitimate concern. I work in the Veterinary Medicine field and we are short on many of the items we need to function and save patients lives on a daily basis - exam gloves, surgical masks, etc.

Rejection sensitive dysphoria is wild. Someone will be like "hey just so you know the thing you did was a little bit loud/uncomfortable/insensitive but it's ok I know you didn't mean it" and my brain will instantly translate "you should be shot"

The fun other side of this too is when you are afraid of making other people feel that way so you just let shit go 90% of the time even when it's reasonable and valid to make a comment/critique/etc

I sit in the bass section in band. Today I could clearly hear the flutes up at the front! They’re not great, but I can finally hear them!

Me playing guitar for the first time. Took the hearing aids out. Not a very good sound… yet

Tree leaves in the wind. I got a little spooked at first because it’s 1 am and I’m alone in the park but it’s a real good sound.

Colored pencils make a real nice scratch noise when I’m drawing. I didn’t know they did that
