We’ve just handed things off for Chapter 16 now.

I am working with responsible people who like to actually finish pieces and go back and resolve inconsistencies, friend. This is the only reason why I have not plastered it on every page that I have control over.

Our group is also simultaneously doing the Pride Bang, so pardon us while we all systematically make our lives as hellish as possible. We will start posting the Pacific Rim stuff once we’ve recovered from the Bang. We don’t actually have that much more to write? (maybe 6 or 7 chapters left between the 4 of us?)

Summary:

He hadn’t realized it until after the fact, but there had been something in his head in the breach that wasn’t him.

"I left my husband and my child - I - wasn't capable at the time of taking care of him, either of them. It wasn't safe."

Natasha lets out a soft sound. "That took a lot of guts."

"Perhaps," she hums, but it's nice of the spy to try to make it sound better. "Jack passed away and he requested our son be placed here."

"That's - tragic, ma'am, but why are we here?" Steve asks.

She has to get to the point. "My son was taken."

"Taken?" Natasha interrupts.

"Matthew is blind," Maggie says. "Social services suggested a mentor to help with his navigational skills - the man taught him how to fight and took him. He took him."

Summary: Hawkeye was deaf. That was a fact that was very known and his teammates always tried to make working with them as comfortable as possible for him. When they were in the middle of battle they would sign Clint short paragraphs so that he doesn’t need to read their lips.

So there was the thing with the famous devil of Hell’s Kitchen. He didn’t even sign short words. Ever.

Clint never asked him specifically to do so, but DD had to see the others sign to Hawkeye at least hundreds of times in these last weeks. So yeah, Clint was a little annoyed maybe even pissed off. And he normally wasn’t easy to piss of. Thank you very much. (Ignoring what Natasha or Ironman might say)

Summary: Matt comes to, flat on his back, with Iron Man and Hawkeye hovering over him. “Oh fuck,” Stark says, less than comfortingly.

Summary: Daredevil was the guardian of Hell's Kitchen. Daredevil knew everything that happened inside his city. But sometimes he didn't recognize the people involved. It's not like he can see their faces, ok? Give the man a break.

AKA a self-indulgent fic in which Matt meets the og Avengers and they're all friends and it ends in an identity reveal because I love that specific genre of fics

Look the Devil in the Face (ao3) - prettybirdy979 T, 3k

Summary: It's increasingly becoming a world where the unbelievable happens every day. The Avengers team includes a defrosted World War Two solider, a giant green rage monster and a man who might be a God; and they battle aliens and magic on a regular basis. It's not too far fetched to believe the Devil walks Hell's Kitchen.

Matt, on the other hand, hasn't realised exactly why his new battle buddies seem terrified of him. It's not like they've even heard the rumors about him being the Devil... right?

Summary: Clint and Matt are having a quiet day together while the rest of the team is supposed to be gone. They came back early, and Matt, though he will deny it, freaks out a little.

Summary: It's not every day your vigilante best friend calls you up in the middle of the night with a huge headache and the inability to say any word but no. Luckily for Foggy, said best friend knows a whole team of people who've come across every weird case imaginable.

Will Matt Murdock be happy being dragged to the avenger's tower in search of a cure? No.

Take All The Courage (ao3) - prettybirdy979 T, 16k

Summary: When what should have been a straight forward mission in Hell’s Kitchen goes pear shaped due to lack of communication, teaching his teammates sign language seems like a logical step to Clint. Communication when their comms are down - great plan! And including the local vigilante, who’s been working closely with them on this, is a real no-brainer.

Until it turns out said vigilante is an asshole that thinks sign language is beneath him, judging by the way he’s stubbornly refusing to learn it.

(Conversely - Matt’s trying, he really is but damn it, those two signs are exactly the same… what do you mean they mean completely different things?!)

The Curiosity Game (ao3) - ArtemisRayne pepper/tony, clint/laura T, 13k

Summary: Clint Barton knows that boredom is dangerous; it tends to lead to him doing stupid things. Stupid things like making bets with Tony Stark about which one of them can find and befriend the Daredevil of Hell's Kitchen first.
