Honestly i feel such immense contempt and disgust for men who dont consider themselves feminists, who treat it like a dirty word or something to be mocked or belittled. It is still the default for men to fail even the women close to them, failing to respect and listen to the thoughts of the girls close to them, let alone a woman they don't know, to the point that making the suggestion to maybe go read up on feminist theory to deepen their shallow worldview feels like a joke. And this goes exactly the same for every man no matter the modifier in front. If a man is not an enthusiastic feminist, his commentary on oppression is hollow. If a trans man is not an enthusiastic transfeminist, then truly nothing he says regarding trans oppression adds anything to the conversation that a woman has not already said better and with more depth. If you as a man/masc are not enthusiastically listening to and elevating the words of women within your community who in every corner of life are facing compounded oppression for being women, if you cannot even listen to the experience of a woman and internalize that maybe she sees corners of oppression that a man simply does not, if you cannot admit that simple truth that women are oppressed for being women, then what makes you as a man think you have anything poignant to say about the truths of the world at all?
