I had a theory
I have this theory that the cup song is actually about death. For instance: I got a ticket for the long way round sounds to me like the singer is talking about the after life in a sense and the chorus is about this person that died telling her friend or lover that they’ll miss them after they die. So They don’t explain in any way shape or form returning so death is a one way ticket.
