June 5th, 2011 - Sterek set sail & quickly became the series’ most popular and beloved ship. 

When you ask yourself what made Sterek so popular, think: the fans! It was the fans’ love for the characters of Stiles Stilinski and Derek Hale and their shared chemistry together that made Sterek so lovable and shippable.

The dedication, the creativity, and the sheer passion from fans that was put into the ship through fanart, fanfiction, and fanwork of all sorts, is what gave Sterek the momentum that helped it move through the obstacles that were placed in front of it.

It's honestly so shocking that it's been 10 whole years since we were introduced to these characters and this ship. For those of you that have been around since this ship set sail, wow—it's been quite the journey. And for the fans that are just now joining this ship, welcome!
