Uh oh I thought I was the only one that noticed, as someone whose family members were victims of Japanās invasions during WWII, that brief flash of Japanese war flag threw me off so much that I backed away from the screen. But I hoped I was only imagining it.
What bother me a lot was when they started to f**king STAB THE FOOD, which is a symbolic gesture of wishing a tombstone on someone at the dinner table. āIām eating with you and I want you and your family to die.ā And they kept talking about how Phil does it in restaurantsā¦ like, hun, i love you, but please donāt do that. Other Asian people are just gonna see you and think āoh another one of those kinda people.ā
Chopsticks are such an intergeal part of eastern Asian culures in so many countries, and such intergration comes with proper rules, traditions, and values. Sadly there were SO MANY things DnP were doing wrong - their chopsticksā tips pointed toward themselves, at some point they separated a pair to rest on either side of the plate like fork and knife, and they touched the tips of their chopsticks with hands constantly, it was justā¦ facepalm.
Unfortunately, their behavior is not new to me or any Asian person. In the western hemisphere, many (white) people donāt give a fuck about etiquttes from other cultures. And itās not like DnP had any Asian friends to teach them proper dinner table etiquettes, so it was just watching another western person demonstrating ignorance due to lack of thought.
