Ranking my ocs based on how terrible they are to have as yanderes (From worst to best)
Hayes (Vampire hunter from here)
This guy somehow manages to be worse than the literal god of death. I HATE HIM!
Pros:
Arrogant and easy to please. Yes, you will have to suck up to him, but he really only wants one thing: control, power and adoration. If you play your cards right, you can almost manipulate him.
Unused to love. Despite being the scariest of the ocs so far, he's easy to catch off guard. He's evil, so he assumes evil from others. If you nuzzle him, kiss him, or say you love him, he chokes. He doesn't know how to react. It makes him softer.
Pretty level-headed. He doesn't lash out or explode when angry.
He is, ultimately, only human. He has limits, so you do have a slim, but possible, chance of escape. (Staying escaped is a difficulty though)
A lot of people don't like him, so you could get a few helping hands. Though, people may turn a blind eye because they don't want to get involved with him.
Cons:
INCREDIBLY sadistic. He doesn't need a reason to do it. He does it for the love of it. This unpredictability is why he's so scary. Granted, he doesn't want to hurt you too badly. Nothing permanent or extreme out of the blue.
(For example: with a vampire!reader, he likes to wear silver rings when he touches them just because he knows how vampires react to silver)
Does not care much if you're upset. In fact, it's more fun if you're upset with him. He loves to see you cry or whine.
Vampire hunter, so he's skilled at tracking and hunting. You may be able to escape, but staying out of his grasp is so hard.
As well as this, it means he's strong and crafty. If you're average strength, it'd be hard to overpower or outsmart him.
Punishments are horrible. Out of all the yans in this list, he's the only one who actually punishes his darling.
He is more extreme than the other characters here, so unlike others, he doesn't give you much freedom. He keeps you stuck in one room, usually shackled unless you've worked on gaining his trust.
Pros:
The only reason why they're ranked so high is because of their power. Unlike Hayes, they aren't cruel.
Cares a lot about you. Would do everything possible to make you happy. You're the only light in their life and they treat you as such. Anything you asked for would be granted.
Genuinely head over heels in love. They look at you like you hung the stars in the sky.
Gives crazy head. They're HUNGRY with it
Cons:
Literally the embodiment of death. Everything rots and withers in their presence.
Extremely dependent on you. You're the only thing that can bear their presence. Without you, they'd probably lose their mind to the crushing loneliness and constant emptiness.
Being a deity, they hold extreme power. This makes it very hard to escape them if you try, especially because they are something as constant as death.
Basically a black hole/void personified. Tries to drink your life force and does try to eat your soul occasionally in an attempt to feel full.
Needs reassurance/emotionally unstable. The nature of their divinity is cruel and torturous, leading to them being somewhat unpredictable.
Dragon (from here)
Pros:
Spoils you a lot. It's almost a point of pride for you to be incredibly pampered. They're a dragon after all. They like to show off.
Doesn't freak out over escape attempts. They just huff and "nudge" you back to the hoard.
Also doesn't get upset if you curse them or lash out. They're mildly offended and they will sulk about it, but they won't try to punish you for it. (They WILL nag you into an apology though)
Overall, they're pretty self-assured about you and don't feel the need to do much to "keep you in line". They're quite fine with you, regardless of if you have a fiery personality or not.
Cuddly. Though, they are a massive dragon, so you do have the risk of getting crushed.
Cons:
You're stuck in a cave. They do their best to spruce it up for you/fill it with things you like, but...it's still a cave. It's not really ideal. It's cold, it's lonely, it's isolating.
Will get offended if you complain about the cave (though they will try to fix whatever bothers you). They are infuriatingly prideful about their hoard.
Being a dragon, they are much bigger and much stronger, so good luck trying to find a way out.
Horrible cook. Once brought you an entire cow, got huffy when you said you couldn't eat it, and then tried to cook it with their fire breath, burning it to a crisp.
Very possessive. This isn't really a problem since, once again, you're stuck in a cave and away from potential suitors, but god help the poor souls that come to rescue you. It's a dragon's nature to want to hoard everything precious to themself, and you're very precious to them.
Spiteful and petty. You will have to bicker with them a lot.
Pros:
Almost always asleep, so they can't really do much to pursue you. If you escape, it takes weeks to even pull themself from bed to start searching for you.
Can help you sleep (maybe a bit too well). You're out like a light them moment you step into their presence.
Because they're always so tired, their emotions are almost muted, meaning they don't get very angry or very sad. This means they aren't unpredictable or as unstable as other yans.
Their strategy is to whine and beg for you to come back to bed. Despite their divinity, they don't pose much of a threat.
Their main goal is for their darling to be happy and well-rested, so while they do have lots of power, they typically won't use it, no matter how stubborn their darling is being.
Like the God of Death, the only reason they're ranked higher than some of the other ones is due to the greater capacity of what they are capable of.
Cons:
They do have a cult. Granted, this cult in comprised of very sleepy humans who are generally quite sweet, but it is a cult nonetheless.
Has the ability to visit you in your dreams. You literally can never truly escape them unless you somehow find a way to not sleep.
Luckily, they prefer to fill your rest with sweet dreams, but they theoretically could use constant nightmares to drive you back to them.
Can control someone's sleep. If you're remotely near them, they could make you drop into the deepest nap of your life whether you want to nap or not.
Pros:
Literally just a guy. Unlike the people before him on this list, he's not mythological. He's not even all that strong, so you actually could overpower him or outwit him.
Generally acts normal most of the time (granted, this is assuming reader is also a hermit). It's easy to think you two are a normal couple.
Very doting. He makes sure that the both of you have all you need at home.
Genuinely loves his darling a lot. While he does keep them inside with him, he can't bring himself to do anything that could seriously upset them.
Cons:
Freaks out if you go outside. Has locked the doors on multiple occasions and tries to lock you in.
Wants reassurances that you won't leave and that you love him. Will get very distraught if he does not get them and will probably do more drastic things (restricting access to electronics, putting locks on the doors again)
Very suffocating. You basically spend all day everyday together.
Atticus (Vampire hunter from here)
Pros:
Very attentive to your needs. He wants what's best for you, and he does try to provide you with it.
Patient with his darling. He understands that you may be upset or distressed and he takes his time with you. He sighs softly if you act out, and gently corrects you (unlike his fellow hunter, Hayes).
Kind of treats you like a startled animal, which I guess is a positive thing? He likes to run fingers through your hair, whispering "Shh, it's alright, pretty".
You later see him doing this to his dogs when they're spooked by a thunderstorm.
Cons:
He is very stubborn in the belief that he knows what's best. He'll coax you to eat, to sit still for him, to rest. He will not drop it if you refuse to listen.
(In case of vampire!reader) Makes you wear a muzzle, at least for the first little bit. He says it's for training, to make sure you won't bite.
He's very likely to say "It's for your own good".
Has lived a rough life, and is compensating for it by taking care of you.
