You know what would have been great? A Niylarke parallel with Clexa. To show the lust-filled needy sex with Niylah verses the passionate and soft loving sex with Lexa. The scene where Lexa sees the drawing and it dawns on her that Clarke could still feel something for her after all that has happened.
Titus could still interrupt that moment, because heβs Titus and would do that anyway. They bring in the box with Emerson and Clarke gets her injury. But instead of pulling away when Lexa goes to help her she stays on the ground. Lexa clears the room and helps Clarke to her bed. She gets a bowl of warm water and a rag and starts to gently clean Clarkeβs wound.Β
Clarke is shaken about seeing Emerson and of course Lexa can tell, because Lexa can always tell when something is wrong with her Clarke.Β βTell me where your mind is.β Lexa would say softly, her hands focused on the injury but her eyes on Clarke.Β
βThe mountain.β Clarke wouldnβt go into detail, just like with Niylah she holds off because the pain is too great. But this is Lexa.Β
βWe do whatβs best for our people Clarke. Even at the expense of ourselves.β Lexa would look down at the bowl in front of her.Β βAnd our hearts.β This would be Lexa not only comforting Clarke but also talking about her own choice on the mountain.
Clarke has already come to terms with the fact that leaders, good leaders, will work from their head and not their heart. I would think the nightgown scene where Lexa talks about her ambassadors doing what was right for their people would open her eyes a little more to Lexaβs own motives.Β
Clarke would look at Lexa for a minute. The Commander slowly looking up with sad eyes at Clarke. But this is what Clarke needed all along. Someone who understood her burden and bore the same invisible scars of their choices. Clarke would see for the first time with clear eyes just how deeply Lexa was scarred from her betrayal on the mountain. Clarke would see a mirrored pain that she had let sink so deeply inside of her she wasnβt sure it would ever leave. But Clarke would look at Lexa and together they would give the other strength to hold their own people together as their own spirits ripped apart.Β
Clarke would take Lexaβs hand as she did with Niylah, but instead of putting it on her body she would guide it down to the bowl so Lexa could drop the cloth into the water. She would silently move the bowl off the bed and Lexa would now know something had changed in Clarke.Β
The moment would be charged as both women would look at each other. All the pain and hurt of the past melting away as they realize just how much they need each other in every way possible. Clarke would move first, just like with Niylah. But there would be no sign of the animalistic Wanheda. This was Clarke with Lexa and it would be that softness we see in 307. But not rushed because there is no barrier Clarke needs to get behind right now.Β
The two melt together and of course Lexa cries because she knows that Clarke has forgiven her. Some of Lexaβs burden is lifted from her weighted shoulders and she allows Clarke to carry her into paradise. A peace neither has known for quite some time washes over them. They bask in the comfort the other offers without needing anything in return but the others presence.Β
