“I’m going to steal one from Dahlia or Amycus or  someone, of course. Though walking back to the dorms wouldn’t be an awful excuse to be late to class..”

“ great view? of the lake, or me? ” he questioned quizzically, flashing her the same smile back before letting go of her hand now she had stood. 

“why can’t it be both?” Aly flashed a coy smile, taking a few steps towards the door while looking back at Rabastan. :And I would be honored to wear your jersey, but let’s see if I can earn it, yeah?”

“I never took you as someone who cared about the little ones. How touching.”

“Of course I care- they’re the future of the wizarding world!” Aly protested with a fake gasp.

“Vastly overrated, in my opinion.”

rabastan didn’t feel inclined to offer alecto his hand as he stared at her outstretched palm, but he did it anyway. he took hers in his gracefully and shook his head with a slight chuckle. 

“Well I would never want to back out of a challenge, so I’ll hold you to that. coach away, quidditch star.” Aly smiled, wrinkling her nose. “You get to practice, and if nothing else, I get a great view and a good night’s sleep afterwards,” she teased. She’d never had any aspirations to be on a team, but Aly definitely liked to have a good time with the right people. 

“Someone’s always got an extra, I’m sure there’ll be a charitable soul in one of your classes.”

“You know - I just figured if you ever piss me off, I have something to hang in the corridor. A nice little visual for everyone passing.”

“Oh god, the little ones would die of secondhand embarrassment.”

“Aw, that’s cute but I don’t even have one for myself...”

“Nah, I quite like this seat. Though I guess it’s in bad taste to keep my head on the table.” 

Aly narrowed her eyes into a glare at the other girl before reaching up to tip her glass in Marlene’s direction. “Oops..” she shrugged as the liquid spilled over.

I’m holding on to a lot of anger, built up over years, when I finally let go, it wont be drops, it wont be a spill, it will be a tidal wave.

“You know, surprisingly that’s not something I am really interested in doing at the present time.” She admitted, laying her head down on the table. 

“I’m sorry, you seem to think I was asking. I wasn’t. Go away.”

“What? Scared of a lonely Gryffindor, Carrow?” Marlene asked, raising an eyebrow at the girl in question.

“Of course not. Your presence is unwanted, and the company I plan to keep are not your type of people, so just do everyone a favor and scurry off, yeah?”

While he was ready to say no, and end the discussion–he knew how his fellow Slytherins were. “What will I get out of it?” 

Aly’s brows raised when Snape didn’t exactly say ‘no’ again, a smile forming on her lips. “What do you want out of it? You clearly don’t need me to do any of your homework...”

“ i’ll believe that when i see it. ” rabastan mused casually, clicking his tongue indecisively. he lifted himself up from the seat and brushed his uniform down with a palm.

When Rab stood up, Aly stashed her letter back into her bag and set the quill back down on the table, holding out her hand expectantly for help up. “Truth be told? I haven’t been on a broom since flying class in first year. I can probably throw a quaffle, though. I’ve always loved watching the matches,  I can see it takes some real talent.”
