not having an ounce of empathy for the only aftg character currently stuck in an abusive home because he's desperate for his mother's love and respect, stuck in an abusive, controlling, homophobic family who despises him because of his sexuality, and who have conditioned him since birth that there's something fundamentally wrong with him and that the only way he can earn that love and respect is by being infallible, by literally bleeding himself dry for them, isn't that great of a hot take imo

“I have no sympathy because he’s rich” is cruel. Yes he’s not a real person…. But his experience def happened before to some degree. Abuse happens in all tax brackets

Last thing I'm gonna say is everyone is entitled to their opinions. You can hate a character if you want, you can lack compassion for them if you want, you can even make posts dismissing their abuse flippantly and then write it off as a "shitpost". But if you're going to do that in the character's tag you CANNOT be shocked when people don't like it. You're entitled to your opinion, and people are entitled to react to it, and people who go in a character's tag don't usually want to see posts like that. You can say whatever you want but acting surprised when people have a reaction to it is frankly embarrassing

"why doesn't Jeremy just leave, he's an adult" it's not that he physically can't, it's that he's desperately hoping if he does everything his family ask of him one day they'll love him. He just wants them to love him. Have some fucking empathy
