JEAN --- HADES
God of the Underworld and the Dead
- Gravely misunderstood and publicly viewed as a villain based on perception and circumstances, despite being a victim himself and trapped in a realm where he survives by dutifully carrying out his obligations.
- Quiet resilience. Forced into a world built on fear, punishment, and strict hierarchy. Endures by enforcing and law and order, at the sake of grave personal costs.
- Loss, longing, grief, rebirth, and transition are all main themes associated with him and his realm.
- Ultimately learns to reclaim his power in his situation that originally isolated and demonized him, keeping a close circle he is loyal to and trusts.
Notable mentions: Hephaestus. This was the tough one for me. Cast out, not seen as an equal by peers, crafty. Ultimately, Hades' personality fit better in my eyes. Persephone. But there was someone who I feel fits much better.

JEREMY --- PERSEPHONE
Goddess of the Underworld and Spring
- Bring life everywhere she goes. The Goddess of Spring brings hope, kindness, and warmth even to the darkest places.
- Commands respect through compassion and understanding instead of demanding absolute obedience. Loved by those who follow her.
- Overbearing and overprotective mother who keeps her sheltered and away from the rest of the world, keeping her from being able to make her own choices. Unable to experience the world on her own terms.
- Duality between darkness and light. Reaches her full potential when she is allowed to make her own choices without sacrificing her innate goodness and embracing her darker desires.
Notable mentions: Apollo. This is probably the most surface level obvious choice. But Apollo is too self-focused and free-willed. Helios would be better, but again, there is something too free there. Hestia. Not enough of a leader, and Renee was the MUCH better choice.

Goddess of Women, Family, and Marriage
- Fiercest protector of the family. Unafraid to highlight and confront the egregious behavious of those who seek to harm her family, especially those who cannot do so themselves.
- Stabilizsing force. Able to see the forest for the trees and prioritize the overall health and well-bring of her community.
- Independent and assertive in a patriarchal world that seeks to shove her into boxes and labels. Knows her strength and worth, despite what others say and do.
- Unforgiving of those who cross or hurt her loved ones or herself.
Notable mentions: Athena. This was one of my toughest ones. Ultimately, Laila's fierce protectiveness over those she loves and dignified queenliness helped me make the tough call. Ultimately, with with Dan as Athena, who felt more strategic.
Author's Note: I AM A HERA DEFENDER. She is often seen as one-dimensional and personifies all the ways society attacks strong women and cast as vengeful, jealous, and petty. Victim of patriarchal standards and texts and rarely ever given her flowers for stabilizing and ruling over Olympus.

God of Wine, Festivity, and Ecstasy
- Multifaceted in ways that are not always obvious. Confident, playful, competitive, joyful, social, authentic, all with an edge.
- God of celebration. Puts value into celebrating achievements and moments, bringing everyone together to do so.
- Accepting. One of the least judgemental of the gods, he values authenticity and ancourages humans and gods alike to be themselves and live life to the fullest. Dionysos accepts outsiders and castaways that often times no one else will.
- Unafraid to be emotionally expressive. While most gods remain stoic or try to keep a serious face, Dionysos embraces and expresses his own emotions in a way that makes those around him feel more comfortable to then do the same.
Notable mentions: Eos. Bringing the dawn. But Dionysos bright spirit fit better.

God of roads and travel.
Survives through wit/adaptability over brute force.
Messenger between realms. Above the board and below. Really lives in the liminal space few others do.
Came to be regarded as the god of language, alongside Mnemosyne.

Goddess of the Hunt, Wilderness, Young Women, and Children.
Fierce guardian of bodily autonomy. Several myths revolve around personal boundaries and consent.
Has her Hunters as her very small, loyal group that she trusts.
Very stoic. Shows affection or loyalty through intense action over words.
Her protectiveness doesn't come from some inate need to nurture. It comes from knowing what it feels like to be the unprotected.
Notable mentions: Hades. I know, I know. Yell at me in the comments. Narrative-wise, it's not wrong. But Hades is a lot more compliant in his role and less independent-minded. There is also someone else who fits him more.

God of Prophecy and Oracles, Music, Song and Poetry, Archery, Healing, Plague and Disease, and the Protection of the Young.
The "Golden Boy" of the Gods (Exy).
Known for demanding perfection from himself and other. Built a personality/persona around best The Best. Quick to anger if you talk shit about his skills.
Often perceived as arrogant and insensitive when it comes to his craft. Believes discipline is the way to perfection.
Prideful, but puts trust in the few he deems worthy/respects.
Loves a prophecy. (The Perfect Court)
Notable mentions: I KNOW. I know this will be contested. Some of you screaming "ATHENA!" but no. Love him dearly, that boy is not Goddess of Wisdom, war or not. And all him and Hera have in common are that they're petty Queens. Also, Kevin literally does everything possible to EVADE conflict. Actual honorable mentions go to Nike and Hephaestus.
