alter role flags

do not add anything we post to pluralpedia or other pro-endo websites similar to it. CDD exclusive websites and things related to them are okay.

this is just a blog to post any alter role flag we've made for our system with our own role flag template. we cannot guarantee there haven't been roles created by anyone with the same word as some of the roles we've made for our system; if they have, then simply consider it two different roles with the same etymological root.

[ PT. Chassis parts. /End PT. ]

a flag we've made for a role used within our system. a chassis can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who 'covers' the system in order to hide behind a veneer of 'singlethood'.

chassis can be constant fronters, but they don't have to be — they may quickly switch in when needing to cover the system or they may be in front and 'close' the cover when needed, then open the cover when they view it as safe to. chassis typically have murky memories unless they have another role related to memories or if they're accessing an active fronters memories. chassis typically muddy or dissipate the identities of others when they're covering the system.

there are external and internal chassis: an external chassis typically being a cover for the whole system to appear more as a singlet or generally more cohesive as a person; and an internal chassis being moreso for a subsystem to appear as one alter.

chassis can be viewed as similar in definition to shell alters, however shells are typically said to only be for systems who've experienced OEA or TBMC (whether this is true or not we do not know, take this with a grain of salt).

we're a polyfragmented/C-DID system so our view of a chassis is colored by our experience of being polyfragmented, however any system may use it. chassis parts are probably seen more commonly in OSDD-1a* and P-DID as well. this flag is also similar to our vault flag (link) due to the roles being closely related in our system.

* we know OSDD-1a isn't an 'official' diagnosis as of the DSM-5, but 1a systems still identify with it as it explains their experiences, so we will use it here to specify.

[ PT. Vault parts. /End PT. ]

a flag we've made for a role used within our system. a vault can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who stores information on the system for ease of access. most vaults' memories or knowledge can be easily accessed by anyone in the system.

for an example on vaults, our system vault holds knowledge of our legal name, age, birthdate, medications, other information on the system; general information about our friends and family.

if we were to expand vaults with subsets, our type of vault could potentially be dubbed an autobiographical vault. vaults could also be generalized, system information (regarding the innerworld, alters and their roles, etc.), memory, trauma, so on. certain types of vaults could potentially count as internal self-helpers, or vice-versa.

[ PT. Attenuator parts. /End PT. ]

a flag we've made for a role used within our system. an attenuator can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who suppresses, numbs, or attenuates something; be it (an) emotion, physical senses, et cetera. one can say they're an emotional attenuator, physical attenuator, the list goes on.

[ PT. Emitter parts. /End PT. ]

a flag we've made for a role used within our system. an emitter can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who assist another with internal communication. emitters don't speak for the one(s) they assist, they simply make it so their thoughts are emitted to who they're trying to communicate with.

[ PT. Allay or allayer parts. /End PT. ]

a flag we've made for a role used within our system. an allay or allayer can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who calms another, sometimes with their presence alone.

allays are essentially soothers. we just use this because we like the word, honestly.

[ PT. Convoy parts. /End PT. ]

a flag we've made for a role used within our system. a convoy can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who is always aware of and observant of front. convoys typically work under another* and report back to them on the doings of the current fronters — current fronters may or may not be aware of this.

* typically gatekeepers, internal self-helpers, or similar roles.

convoys tend to be aware at all times as they tend to have access to the whole systems perspective, but it may also be used for ones who only have access to specific subsystems perspectives. this was made with polyfragmented/C-DID systems in mind but can be used by any system who feel it fits.

we also jokingly call our convoy a CCTV.

[ PT. Aide parts. /End PT ]

a flag we've made for a role used within our system. an aide can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who assists others in the system with their roles, usually to help streamline the process.

for example, one of our aides helps our caretakers by suppressing the influence of other alters in front to make it easier for the caretaker to fulfill their obligation. aides do any sort of assisting and what an aide helps with doesn't strictly have to be related to anothers role, it just usually is. aides may just help another do something they want or need to do in general.

our personal flag for root (link). a root can be defined as alter (or fragment) who has a connection or the capability of communication with most, if not all, of the system.

[ PT. Pseudo-host parts. /End PT. ]

our personal flag for pseudo-host (link). a pseudo-host can be defined as an alter (or fragment) who fulfills the jobs of a typical host that aren't performed by the system's host for one reason or another.

our personal flag for guardian (link). a guardian can be defined as an umbrella term for alters (or fragments) who are protectors, caretakers, both, or similar roles.

[ PT. Internal self-helper parts. /End PT. ]

our personal flag for internal self-helpers. an internal self-helper (or inner self-helper), often shortened to ISH, is the official term for an alter (or fragment) that holds vast amounts of knowledge about the system, alters, trauma, and/or internal workings of the system.

[ PT. Symptom holder parts. /End PT. ]

our personal flag for symptom-holders. a symptom-holder is a widespread community term for an alter (or fragment) who holds specific symptoms of a condition the system has. the symptoms are either exacerbated when the symptom-holder fronts or they front during flare-ups, episodes, and other moments where the condition is more prominent.

[ PT. Trauma-holder parts. /End PT. ]

our personal flag for trauma-holders. a trauma-holder is a widespread community term for an alter (or fragment) who holds memories related to traumatic events. the memories can be of specific trauma, related to specific abusers, or all trauma and the like.

this flags colors are taken from this C-PTSD flag (link) since trauma-holders hold parts of our trauma itself. trauma-holders are a subset of memory-holders (link).

our personal flag for memory-holders. a memory-holder is a widespread community term for an alter (or fragment) who holds specific memories or groups of memories.

our personal flag for persecutors. a persecutor is the official term for an alter (or fragment) who personally harms the body, system, or specific alters, typically as a misguided form of protection but not always.
