a term for any part that is missed, grieved, or was 'lost' to their system. this may have been through shattering, prolonged dormancy, fusion (particularly negative fusion), drastic fragmentation, or any other occurrence that the system views as loss.
this is one of the few terms that the headmate themselves cannot claim. rather, its intended use is to give those who loved them a term to refer to them by, memorializing their existence and showing that they were cherished by the rest of their system.

these tags were left under our house host term by @crys-ambivalenttowardrbs . it hit us hard. it made us happy to know that we'd been able to give a recognized name to something others experience, especially when the person in our own system, who coined it for themselves, struggled for so long to define their role in words.
"man, I wish she were around to see this."
we've echoed that sentiment so many times, about so many we've lost; it makes us emotional reading it over trying to write this. they would have loved this, if only they could see it. it's even harder now, because we lost the person who coined that role, split up into multiple for a lot of different reasons. though we love the newcomers dearly, there's still that sense of loss for the person they were.
everyone focuses so much on how, in the typical way, headmates can't die, so they skim past the fact that you can still lose them because it's 'not the same'. we've always hated that. loss is loss, no matter what way. sometimes you can get them back. sometimes you can't. it doesn't change the fact that it hurts when they're gone.
we wanted a way to let others know they're not alone in grieving. a way for those left to show that the ones they lost weren't just forgotten, they're memorialized, whatever that means to them. a way to commemorate the alters that didn't make it through to the other side.
this post is dedicated to ammie. it's dedicated to those in our partner system that we never got the privilege to meet before their collapse. it's dedicated to all the members of our system we've lost over the years, and to those we never got to meet properly before they slipped away. it's dedicated to every single part, alter, headmate, fragment, that every plural has lost in their journey.
we understand that holding on is hard. we know. but your system will love and cherish you, and what you did for them, long after you're gone.
an alter whose role is to lighten the mood when the system is experiencing negative emotions/situations despite having a hard time themself. a corriedale alter is usually supportive, kind and caring. oftentimes, they happen to be littles or little-adjacent, but that’s not a requirement.

The Cat’s Meow: a term that describes an alter who meows or makes cat noises(this includes big cats). This could be due to a multitude of reasons, such as due to being non-human, verbal stemming, tics, etc. There is no wrong way to use this term.

Board_O5:
O5 Board, also known as Gatekeepers are the highest highest authority in the system. They either have near or complete unlimited access to the system.
Members of the O5 usually do not take part in the day-to-day events of the system. Their word is final within the system. These gatekeepers usually also handle harmful alters and break up fights.
Ethics_Committee:
These alters are often high ranked or well respected caretakers or gatekeepers. They are directly below the O5. They determine what is safe for the system and remain vigilant to protect the system. They are most often also in charge of managing or forming voting polls. They also make other alters discuss their feelings or fruitions with each other.
Archival_and_Information_Security_Administration:
These alters form records of what has happened to the system, both inside and outside of it. As well as controlling what information is recorded or talked about to the outside world.
Unit_for_interaction_with_anomalous_entities:
These alters specialize in maintaining and handling harmful alters. They often work on helping harmful alters redirect their desires for harm elsewhere. They seek to create a safe environment for the system to work together.
These alters are in some way a machine or in some way identify with technology. This can be in behaviour, sourcing, innerworld appearance, etc. They also maintain digital information on the system or handle internal records. They do not believe and are often actively against real generative AI.
Emergency_response_body_to_emerging_threats:
These alters specialize in detecting and responding to external threats. As well as coordinating emergency responses affecting the system’s body. They are often more calm headed or act as specialized caretakers for the system in an emergency.
Department_for_Combating_Burnout:
These alters care for alters who are burned out or become too exhausted to front. These alters are most often caretakers who can recognize and respond to burnout.
Department_of_Mythology_and_Folklore_Studies:
These alters are often of mythological sources or in some way. Or they feel strange and mythological to the system. They rarely if ever front and are often mysterious, confusing, or may be unknown to the system.
Department_of_Tactical_Theology:
These alters are involved with the maintenance of religious ideologies within the system. Or they protect the system from further religious trauma.
