Name - "Trumpet" is a reference to episode 5 where whatshisface misremembers "Trancy" as "Trumpet". It's a oneoff line but I thought it was funny enough to reference in pony AU. "Gold" because straw into gold :P Pony names are allowed to be stupid sounding

I made sure his stupid peasant name was as stupid and lame sounding as his actual stupid peasant name in the show. If I were named Jim Macken I'd also change that ASAP and hide it as much as I could. "Haybail" also giving a different context to what otherwise looks like a rather luxurious golden mane...

Species - Earth pony by birth and he fakes being a unicorn. His ring gives him limited magic- which is of course red. In my AU, unicorns basically only exist in the aristocracy, so of course he wasn't born that way (peasant boy) and had to fake it like how he fakes his birthright.

On that note, that's also why I made his colors so drab. If I were designing a pony, normally, I tend to go for the brighter colors. He might've ended up the magenta of his coat. But I thought making him more earthtones matched his backstory far better. He's not "white coat with golden mane", he's some generic normalcolor horse. He just manages to look close enough to a fancy horse with his blue eyes he passes.

Not only are unicorns limited to the aristocracy, for the most part, bright colors are as well...

Cutiemark - Same as Ciel, he didn't get one and then it was replaced with the demon contract. If he ever did get a real one I imagine it'd be a butterfly on fire, perhaps...

Name - Sweet thing gets sweet name. Also matched his fur around it.

Species - Earth pony same as his broooo

Cutiemark - [Makes Ciel and Alois coats shorter than they would be just so that people can see their cutiemarks] this child wearing pants is not suspicious whatsoever. don't worry about it.

Claude

Name - Faustus sounds like Faustian which means not being true to your morals and he sucks so like yeah. I really could've been more creative with his first name but I kept just saying "pony cloud" all the time as a joke it just sort of stuck, pff. I'm sure you could make it deep, but "Cloud" just keeps the whimsey of the pony AU lol... stormy weather ahead...

Species - Unicorn... He's meant to look like he saw Sebastian and decided he could do better. And he could. Sebastian looks like he got his haircut out of a misplaced emo teen magazine XD

Cutiemark - "why does his cutiemark get to be a spiderweb if sebastian doesn't get to be a crow" bc he cares significantly less about his role, "spider" is also the family seal, and bc he's more defined by it. And I haven't seen a little bit of the crow thing outside of season 1 either ??

Hannah

Name - The name I thought sounded subserviant enough, but also "eternal" is like this sort of edgy darkness dimensia ravenway name that makes me think of demons. Also sounds kind of like "maternal". SHE'LL NEVER BE A MOTHER, NO MATTER HOW HARD SHE TRIES

Species - Earth Pony bc is supposed to appear weak and futile but is very large bc of her actual stature and because secretly dangerous even though pretends to be demure.

Cutiemark - I didn't draw her any because the dress was tooooo important. I suppose you could do something cool with the symbol of a bleeding eye, but that's a little weird because that only happens later. Maybe it'd just look like her simple hat and be boring, lol

The Triplets

Names - Mostly the same (Timber/Canerbury/Thompson) but I added horse buns where I could. Canter... thomp...

Species - There hasn't been a single flying horse I've drawn yet for this AU (there's a reason for that) so I decided to give them demon wings. They are demons, they don't exactly hide it, and they often preform acrobatics soooo

Cutiemarks - Drawing the picture took enough time I just copied their pants chain things lol. Probably could've made it more like chains BUT got lazy.
