I doubt there's any meaning to it
But in the recent Episode with Sugarcube and Minty, I love viewing the fact that Minty being the first one to rush for Sugarcube instead of Brandy when she started screaming shows how much Minty is trying to better himself and be a better father. He wasn't typically a bad father, nor was Brandy, but they both did have moments where their pettiness towards one another got the better of them, especially Brandy. Past context, I don't know? I'd only point at Minty because cheating is disgusting and can damage a child. But anyways, back to the present; in older episodes, seeing that Brandy was usually the first one to attend to Sugarcube's distress, it was nice seeing Minty do it in this episode specifically. I don't know, probably looking too deep into it. I'm also not so good at media literacy so I'm probably missing context, like how Brandy and Minty actually were as fathers both past and present, and with horrible memory as well, I can't recall how many times Minty was the first to run to her instead of Brandy, but this episode has my heart, and I hope we get to see more on Minty and Sugarcube's dynamic.
Really bums me out how many people spit at Minty, though. Yeah, he fucked up really bad, but he's realised that and in the midst of an apocalypse with a literal 9-year-old, you tend to realize issue's like that aren't as important anymore, at least for me. (I am not defending his cheating, though. But, please understand, people can change. Do you have to forgive? No, but you don't have to bite them down constantly over it either.) Noting this now, before I continue on, I am aware that Minty had an attitude first. But anyways, speaking on behalf of the cheating, something that I always had a thought on, but Episode 75, Brandy poking at Minty cause of it was like a big "whoa buddy," for me LOL, kind of bothered me. I mean, grief and hurt will be there, and I respect Brandy's feelings completely towards it all, but it gets to a point where you gotta drop something like that to protect your family, especially a child. The petty moments, the bickering, the attitudes, etc, will just bring everyone down. It already brought Sugarcube into a tantrum, which is hard proof.
Though when he punched Minty, I'm not sure if the punch was when the suspicion of DELIRIUM specifically happened, or if the suspicion happened prior, so that's also something I will consider, just in case his poke at Minty in that episode was just due to the advancement.
Like I mentioned, I'm not good at media literacy or picking up meanings, and all that jazz, but this is just my view, and I am so open to hearing others. Though all I ask is to please be nice about it towards me if you want to correct my view or add onto it
This is probably my first and forever last time I share something like this though because I don't feel so comfortable sharing my views, theories, etc but this one I don't know I wanted to try sharing.
