i just… love her (my house) !!!

had the absolute best time at the noah kahan concert! my seats were amazing and he played orbiter (my favorite song) so close to me on the c stage. i may or may not have cried a lot. i have a ridiculous amount of parasocial love for him and i feel so grateful to have gotten to see him for a third time. my body is running on about two hours of sleep and a prayer rn but it was totally worth it.

it was actually imperative that we make a little heated rivalry pit stop on the way up to toronto today and we had so much fun visiting all the spots! i love this stupid show and my best friends so much!

i think my alaska junk journal pages turned out so well! i did one spread for each place that we stayed and i’m so happy with them.

one last alaska picture because i love this one and i feel like i look so happy in it. i am officially home after a very long travel day, reunited with my babies and with a belly full of doordashed chinese food. i am so glad i decided to take the rest of the week off leading up to our mini toronto trip this upcoming weekend because i am whipped. i always need a vacation from my vacation because i have no chill. feeling so so so lucky and grateful to have had these experiences over the past week. i saw everything i wanted to see and more and my expectations were truly blown out of the water. everything just worked out so perfectly. full heart.

also here is my video of the orcas. i can’t believe i just got to watch a whole pod swimming in the most beautiful place in the world for almost fifteen minutes straight. i cried so much and i wasn’t even the only one crying. it was so enchanting.

days five and six: day five was just a drive day because we had to drive eight and a half hours up north to denali. two highlights of the ride were 1) i saw a mama grizzly and two babies and 2) we were lucky enough to get a glimpse of the summit of denali. denali is the tallest mountain in north america and because it has its own weather system, only 30% of visitors get to see the summit. i didn’t expect to see it at all, so that was an incredible surprise. day six was our last non travel day. we took a hop-on hop-off bus through the park because it’s the main way to access the park. we saw moose, caribou, snowshoe hares, arctic squirrels, dall sheep, and more grizzlies! i loved how untouched and wild it was. what a special place. thank you thank you thank you alaska for all the magic.

alaska day four: for our second day in homer we took a water taxi to kachemek bay state park, which is only accessible by water or plane. it was extremely remote and such a beautiful place for a hike. we hiked to a glacier lake and it was wild seeing the giant chunks of ice floating in it. it was a perfect moderate hike for me and my dad to do, because he couldn’t do anything too hard. i also ironically saw this beautiful butterfly post-tattoo which felt so synchronistic.

alaska day three: this day we had a three and a half hour drive to homer, which is an otherworldly seaside town on a spit with nearly 360 degree mountains and ocean. our airbnb here had the most beautiful view of the water. we spent the day exploring the shops along the spit and then i got my alaska tattoo by a super cool artist in town. i sent an inquiry a while ago and she never replied, but then she texted me the day of and asked if i was still interested so it felt like kismet. i’ve been wanting a butterfly for a while and she suggested putting the alaska state flower in the wings, which i loved. we also saw a baby moose in town!

alaska day two: from seward we departed on a boat to explore kenai fjords national park via water and oh my god. if i could only do one thing in alaska it would be this. the scenery was unbelievable and we saw every type of wildlife you could imagine. sea otters, humpback whales, puffins, black bears, murres, sea lions, bald eagles, and a whole pod of orcas! all i wanted from alaska was to see an orca and even that felt like a pipe dream, so of course i cried like a baby seeing a whole pod. we were able to watch them swim for like twenty minutes and everyone on the boat was mesmerized. i swear to god it was the most magical moment of my life.

alaska day one: we flew into anchorage and got in late at night, so day one was the next morning. we woke up and drove south to a small mountain town on the water called seward. the drive was absolutely drop dead gorgeous, with endless mountain vistas and viewpoints at every turn. we also visited the land portion of kenai fjords national park (most of it is only accessible by water) which included a hike to a glacier. i also fell in love with this little coffee shop shaped like a mug. it was the perfect first day.
