“Well, thank you. Although even though it hurts so much right now, I can manage.”

“Oh! Ouch! Do… Do you want to borrow some cover-up?”

“No, I’m alright.”

“I swear, if I have to hear my mother tell my little sister prom is her chance to find ‘the perfect match’ I’m going to be sick. Everyone knows prom night is about underage drinking and teenage pregnancy. Is that really what my mother wants to encourage? Can prom season please be over?”

“Well, prom is not only about underage drinking and teenage pregnancy you know? Prom can also be the night where friends get together and tag along, but if someone spikes the punch then I guess you’re probably right. Another one bad thing about what I’m saying is that most of what you said is true.”

Either one is fine! Though going shopping sounds fun.

Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. It’s going to be so boring without you, haha. The sad side to it is also that what if I buy you something you don’t like? Talk about awkward.

“Excuse me…? Yeah, hello, could you maybe quiet down? I’m trying to work on an important assignment.”

“Oh, sorry. I was just buzzing over this cute thing I had seen.”

Well, I hope I don’t piss you off because celebrating your birthday sounds like a nice thing to do. I will also put a reminder to shop with you or buy stuff for you. Which one you prefer? 

“No, you can’t make me choose between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Do you ask mothers to choose between their children too?”

“Well, this is how I exactly feel when someone asks me these type of questions.”

“Oh, is prom coming up? Great, I love prom.”

“Prom is okay. I just have some dislikes about prom.”

“Well I’m happy I could understand and laugh at it. It’s no fun if no one laughs with you.”

“Like once, I was like telling my jokes and they were silent. So, I just stopped and they continued off with their conversation. Embarrassing?”

“Nobody’s sent me a note confessing their undying love for me and asking me to prom yet. How rude.”

“Sorry, but I’ve been working on one for hours. Hint hint.”

“Oh? I wonder why. It was very good.”

“I have no idea why. I mean, its probably because we dont share the same humor. So, I’m glad I finally found someone who can laugh at my jokes.”

“Thank you. Most people often don’t get it.”

“Hm..” Gwen had to think about the question. She didn’t really have anything in mind when it came to forms of payment– mainly because it was a voluntary action. “Just make sure the lipstick is put to good use. There’s a prom coming up. You should wear it for that.” She nodded, tilting her head at the girl.

“I should wear it, yeah.” The girl nodded. “Well, if you’re going for prom queen i’ll for sure vote for you.” Evangeline spoke. The girl didn’t know how to thank Gwen, but she knew that the prom queen voting was the best way to do so. 

“I’m so tired…”

“You should go to sleep.”
