DYK that's was the point of the game? It was invented by Eleanor Abbott for children hospitalized with polio. The disease would effect mobility among other things so Candyland focused instead on bright colors and engaging illustrations rather than complicated gameplay to encourage the imagination of bedbound children. This post, and this comment, is a testament to Abbots genius in when she made this game.

Its just another version of the guy who only asks the only woman in the office to make teas and coffees for the meeting or the boyfriend who purposefully does the laundry wrong so his girlfriend won't ask him to do it again. Colleague who pretends that he doesn't know how to click a button when he's had a button clicker job for 30 years is trying to get out of a task he doesn't want to do (and in my example that dude was trying to get out of paying for wine he had already drunk and wanted me to sell him more wine that he also was hoping to avoid paying for. As soon as I called him out he paid his bill, it took him 30 seconds.)
