This fic is almost fluff from start to finish, and Mel has put SO MUCH effort into worldbuilding- there's several versions of a dictionary (for a language that's not Spanish!), SO MUCH art for each chapter, and no end to the depths of the world she's created. This is now a permanent tab on my Kindle- have I mentioned I love this fic with my whole heart?

This fic has so many of the vibes from the original book that we know and love, but puts a writer Henry, model/photographer Alex spin on it that's absolutely breathtaking in all the best ways. There's so much depth and heart, and a few laughs- you'll be cheering for Henry and Alex from start to finish!

Contrary to what everyone assumes, Sherlock is a great admirer of nature and its many phenomena.Â
It started when he was a boy. The light pollution in the countryside was minimal and the stars were easy to spot on clear nights. He was fascinated by the Greek myths about the constellations and tried to make sense of them when he was lying on the grass looking up at the evening sky.
Stars are a rare sight in London obviously, but every time he gets a glimpse of them, he stops to admire the diamond-like sky and to reminisce about his childhood.
Another fascination he has is the weather. Particularly the bad and fierce sort. Thunder and lightning are his all-time favourites. Sadly, he has never witnessed lighting strike something, though he has seen the damages it has left.
What Sherlock has experienced is how a proximity of a total stranger has altered his life â it actually felt like lightning had struck him.

John Watson is an impossible force of nature. From the first time Sherlock touched Johnâs skin, he felt as if he was illuminated from within.Â
Heat, sparks, itching, yearning, were just a few of the sensations that spread through his body a January day at Barts.
Not only is John radiant and soft; he is also Sherlockâs juxtaposition. Where the detective is pale as the moon, John is glowing like the sun, warming Sherlock even without touching him.
When they finally touch â properly touch â like lovers, it is like being struck by lightning again. Electrical jolts ripple through him and Johnâs fingers and lips burn Sherlockâs skin. He has never felt more alive.
âYou are so beautiful.â
Sherlock doesnât believe John at first. Nobody has ever called him that before. Freak â yes. Beautiful â no.
âHas no one called you that before?â
Johnâs voice is sad and incredulous when Sherlock shakes his head.
âIâll just have to convince you then.â
Sherlock learns that John can be outstandingly persuasive and tireless in his endeavours.
The first time John penetrates him, it feels like an earthquake has hit Sherlock. He is shaken, out of his depth, and more aroused than heâs ever been.
âOh, God. Just look at you, Sherlock. Incandescent, glorious, delectable.â
Johnâs voice and his adoring words can transform Sherlockâs inner organs to molten lava within seconds.Â
As long as he has John in his life, Sherlock will never freeze again, nor will he feel like a freak.
The day he tells John that he loves him, they are watching a double rainbow on holiday in Canada. Johnâs hands cradle Sherlockâs face, his eyes are blue as the sea, brimming with unshed tears.
âDid I say it wrong?â
âNo, my darling. It was perfect.â
They kiss until the rainbows are a faint memory, but every time Sherlock closes his eyes after that day, the multicoloured phenomenon is there to remind him of that precious moment. Â
You're simply never going to convince me that the people who learned how to analyze, think critically, and build up skill sets so they could become genuinely informed and competent in a field and accomplish tasks independently aren't better off than the people who use generative AI as a crutch and replacement for doing anything by themselves. There's not a world where knowledge and skills are a disadvantage, so no, people really don't need to "learn how to use ChatGPT or else they'll get left behind." That's just a marketing tactic to get people to use this product sooner.

Sherlock is working a crime scene when he catches a glimpse of another man from behind a ways away talking to Lestrade and thinks âwow heâs attractiveâ and feels momentarily scandalized by himself before he gets a proper look and is like âoh yeah, thatâs my husbandâ
Sherlock & John make up the story of his marriage to "Mary" to beat the newspaper allegations ... now they take every opportunity to sneak off from cases etc. saying "Mary needs John, etc." when in reality they are slipping out to spend personal time together overnights.
One of the irregulars and her gf are given housing and a position in society to pose as Mary and the housekeeper for this secondary housing unit. While Sherlock has a secret entrance built to accommodate longer and more frequent stays with his own Boswell.
