Ok but what if Viktor nikivorov is like the Tony Hawk of the Yoi world. Sure he’s instantly recognizable in Russia, but other countries, not so much. Imagine the possibilities:

A TSA agent asks what Viktor’s passport says in Cyrillic and when Viktor gives his nam, the TSA guy says “oh like that Russian snow boarder.”

“Um no, figure skater.”

“Yeah him too. Viktor Nikiporovov.” The man says, butchering his name “Must be a common name in Russia.”

“Must be.”

At some random rink in London, a skater falls hard in front of Viktor. As he helps the skater up, he gives them some unwarranted but priceless advice on how to land the double loop they just fell on. The skater snaps at him, “Who do you think you are, Viktor Nikiforov?” before skating off.

Viktor’s hair commercials became big in South East Asia. Instead of being recognized for skating, he gets iterations of “Hair!” and “Pantene man!” shouted at him from Tuk tuks.

The hamster does not watch movies, and therefore is unaware that the cardboard and plastic props in his obstacle course are references to well-known cinematic deathtraps.

He doesn’t seem stressed to me. He’s being pretty exploratory (sniffing around and whatnot), not beelining to the nearest safe space, and he’s even sitting still long enough to ride moving things. This is honestly incredible enrichment.

I think it’s funny that we as a fandom have collectively rejected Viktor’s actual official color (teal). He’s always associated in teal in official drawings/merch/etc. but not to us. To us he is pink.
