i would watch one million episodes where gemma is the principle perspective character. i know how mark feels she was my wife too

i know the severance floor is referenced as hell in the show but i've always thought of it more symbolically as limbo and now that we've seen the testing floor i can confidently say gemma is the one in hell

So much to say about s2 e7 but first and foremost I have to say that Jessica Lee Gagné absolutely killed it with the direction and cinematography. At the very first shot, you can tell that the episode is going to be different. The flashback scenes were so visually distinct from the rest of the show, and it really highlighted the contrast between Mark and Gemma's past vs present lives. Incredible work

happy they didn’t depict mark as a perfect, doting husband who currently suffers from Dead Wife Syndrome™️ which has made him sad and kind of an asshole. no…he’s always been kind of an asshole. he too much and was a bit checked out mentally. he fought with his wife over stupid shit because of the stress of trying and failing to conceive. threw a tantrum building the baby crib, which his wife told him he was not capable of building. he has trouble listening. he didn’t choose to get in the car with gemma the night she died and probably doesn’t remember most of his last conversation with her (not that it was much of a conversation to begin with) because he was too focused on meeting a deadline. the guilt that man feels…of course he chose to be severed. he blames work for taking gemma away from him.

severance is perpetually set in winter except when mark is with gemma, only then it's spring. all of this could mean nothing. just don't think about it.
