What I wanted more than anything was a forever with you, to wake up on a chilly Sunday morning and feel your arms around me and to hear the familiar sound of your heartbeat, the same one that calmed and soothed me all those years, but not everyone is meant to stay in our lives forever. Although our time together was cut short I’m thankful for you and forever grateful to you. You taught me how to let go, and that not everyone is meant to stay in my life forever. You showed me what it felt like to be loved and cared for. While you were the one who showed me real love you were also the one who showed me pain and heartache. But what I wanted to say was thank you, thank you for teaching me that love is a process of trial and error, that I’ll have to go through so many more heartbreaks before I find “the one”. So thank you, thank you for loving me, those 4 years were the best of my life, thank you for showing me that sometimes actions don’t always line up with words, thank you for all the laughs, the sloppy and smiley kisses, the tight hugs, the tears, and the memories. Thank you for everything, you taught me a lot about life, and despite it all I will never regret us, and I hope wherever life takes you that you end up truly happy.
