Let’s all acknowledge that while we shouldn’t judge people for habits they may not control, we also shouldn’t judge people for having low tolerance of those things, because that also is something people can’t control well.

Example: it’s not always someone’s fault if they are loud in public, but it’s also not someone’s fault if the noise bothers them.

It’s not someone’s fault if they walk slow in a narrow walkway, it’s also not someone’s fault if being stuck behind that person angers them.

It’s not someone’s fault if they have poor hygiene, it’s also not someone’s fault if they are sensitive to smell.

We can be mad at situations without blaming anyone in particular, like when you’re stuck in traffic.

You’re not a bad person for being annoyed IF you’re annoyed without judgement.

Still, It can feel really degrading when someone is visibly bothered by you for something you can’t help, so everyone should still keep general politeness in mind.

All I’m getting at is we gotta stop making “bad habits vs bad tolerance” a battle of ableism. And just acknowledge that sometimes peoples “quirks” don’t mix, but as long as they don’t blame each other for that, then no hard feelings👌 like:

“I’m prone to emotional outbursts” “oh, well I’m very sensitive to seeing emotional outbursts” “dang, let’s keep that in mind for each other while also limiting our interactions” “sounds good! See ya rarely”

We are people just like you

We are statistically more likely to be harmed than to do harm

Not all of us are overt, there’s a good chance you have talked to and maybe even been friends with a schizophrenic without knowing!

There’s more schizophrenia spectrum disorders than just schizophrenia, such as schizoaffective disorder or schizotypal personality disorder

“Schizo” is considered an offensive term by many schizophrenics and some even consider it a slur against us, if you aren’t schizospec yourself please try to avoid using it (as well as “psycho” for psychosis!)

Similarly, the recently common “quirky” online phrases “delulu”, “schizoposting”, “I’m so delusional” (without actually having a delusion), etc are also very offensive! We aren’t a joke!

Not all of us hallucinate or have delusions. There’s more symptoms than just those 2 and the schizophrenia diagnostic criteria doesn’t even necessarily require either of them to be present

We can sometimes know we’re having a delusion while still experiencing the delusion, it’s called double bookkeeping

We deserve rights and bodily autonomy (that includes to not be forcefully drugged and locked up without our consent!!!)
