She literally used her first two initials as a pen name to sound less feminine because she genuinely believed that male authors just naturally sold better. She split her childhood imaginary self into two characters (Harry and Hermione), assigning the traits she liked to the boy and the traits she hated to the girl. She made half of the antagonists ugly or even inhuman looking, and had the other half spend "too much" time on their appearances, with hair covered in oil or gel and strong makeup.

Like half the second book is spent talking about a literal slave race that the main characters were just introduced to, and the boy (who is a Hero for literally being born) just accepts the racism while the girl (who is consistently portrayed as annoying and uppity and is inherently seen as lesser in their society) is portrayed as being naive and even stupid for trying to free the literal slaves. And the only argument anyone has for why house elves shouldn't be freed is "it's in their nature", which is quite literally ripped from the American civil war era slaver rhetoric regarding non-white people!

And the thing is, she grew up in a time and place where that sort of bullshit was normal. Where hating yourself for being a girl, resenting anyone "better" at it than you are, and blindly accepting nonsense explanations for horrific beliefs was the norm.

My mom and grandma also grew up in times and places like that. But the difference is, they were Jewish. They lived in a world after the holocaust, where the full truth of that vileness was revealed, and the only reason they were ever born is because my ancestors fled the similar bigotry surrounding the Soviet uprising and subsequent purges, moving to America instead of nearby Germany. My grandmother fought her entire life to be respected and independent, and my mother literally became a hippie in the face of the constant wars in the middle east and slightly-less-overt bigotry. Because they could very clearly see where that blind obedience to authority and acceptance of inequality led to.

Joanne Kathleen Rowling never had that perspective. She never decided that she was worth more than what bigots would grind her down to. And now, in 2025, she is a bitter old woman watching the world change around her and blindly flailing in place because she refuses to think. Because transgender women make her uncomfortable because they want to be women, and she, having lived her entire life hating her own gender, doesn't, and believes that being a woman means you are doomed to eternally suffer at the hands of men.

The reason that she's a problem isn't just because she has these beliefs, but because she managed to repackage them in a cutesy fantasy bow and sell them to millions of people, and now actively spends millions of dollars on hurting people who she doesn't like, literally lounging with a glass of wine celebrating how many people she just doomed.
