Most of them are located on the Southern coast of the island.

I cannot pretend to be exhaustive but still can list the beaches I know. And I invite all contribution that could update this list ! Starting from West to East, they are :

Kedrodasos - 1km East of Elafonisi

Paleochora - a section of western main beach

Paleochora/Anydri - about 4 kms East of Paleochora town

Sougia - Eastern part of main beach

Hora Sfakion - Sweet Water Beach (Glyka Nera)

Hora Sfakion - Iligas

Hora Sfakion - Filaki

Frangokastello - Eastern part of sand dune

Plakias - Souda beach (about 4 kms West of Plakias)

Plakias - Main Beach (Eastern part)

Plakias - Ammoudi & Mikro Ammoudi (3 kms East of Plakias)

Agia Fotini - Ligres - Pahia Ammos, a ten km secluded beach starting in Agia Fotini, i.e. 5 kms East of Prevelli

Kommos beach (5 kms North of Matala)

Matala’s Red Beach
