My very late Alternative Universe entry to Clone x OC week.

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY MAY THE 4TH POST BUT A FIRE ALARM INTURRUPTED ME ARRRGGGG well anyway, enjoy what you should have received yesterday. So I made the bad batch and all my OCs in Tomodachi life. The island is called Crossover Cove and includes characters from other franchises + some of my other original characters. It's been very fun to watch the shenanigans unfold. Here's some highlights! As always all my pairs are platonic.

Day 4: Confession - Crosshair & Neva & Rymme (Platonic)

Piece Title: "Don't you get it, we need you!" Prompt: Let me in

Today's submission comes along with a little excerpt from Welcome to the War, my next fic in the Welcome to the Games series. The actual scene might change by release but here's what I've got right now.

Context for this excerpt: The timing is Bad Batch season 2, right after episode three, the solitary clone. Rymme and Neva are currently enlisted as stormtroopers (semi-against their will). Crosshair has been ignoring their messages since order 66 and now that they are assigned to the same team has been doing the bare minimum in terms of communication.

POV Neva

Neva jolted upright from her cot at the sound of the dormitory door sliding open. No warning, no knock, so it had to be either a superior officer with no manners or Rymme.

She was right on both counts.

Day 3: Tension - Crosshair & Rymme (Platonic)

Piece Title: "Don't shut me out!" Prompt: Duty over relationship (or Crosshair thinks he's protecting people by distancing himself) Description: Rymme tried to reach out but... Crosshair isn't letting anyone in right now.

So with my first fic in the series nearly fully posted I suppose I can start to tease plot points from the sequel... Yes, Rymme is in fact wearing Storm Trooper Armor. The sequel aligns with the events of the Bad Batch season 2.

When Neva is forced to enlist in the army against her will, Rymme follows, unable to leave her friend to face the horrors of the empire alone... and then they find Crosshair. And Cody... and everything spirals out of control.

Rymme re-reading Crosshair's last comm messages after order 66 for the millionth time. "Don't message me again." She's followed his instructions so far, but every day she hovers a hand over the text box, debating whether its time to break the silence and find out what's going on.

Prompt: Confiding in each other.

I should probably stop reposting this one so much lol but here it is again, Shele confiding in Hunter and Hunter trying his best to give her advice that he, himself, is not currently following. Their both recovering from the death of an innocent civilian they failed to protect.

Prompt: "First meeting" Description: The start of the platonic friendship between my oc Rymme and Tech and the first time they ever interacted properly. Tech notices shy Rymme hiding behind a datapad and, noting that he is doing the same, inquires about what she's reading. This is Tech's first time noticing that that regular, everyday, non-cloned people, with all their unique differences, are more alike to him and his brothers than his own DNA kin.

Prompt: "First meeting" Description: Crosshair was just trying to find his brother, he didn't mean to crash into Rymme in the dark in the depths of the arena's staff corridors but here he is and Rymme is not happy about it.

Hiii I'm late and I had intended to do one drawing for each of the Bad Batch members and my OCs, and I intended for this to be in color and slightly more polished but... time got away from me. Perhaps I'll update this later.

UPDATE: Decided to just do two of these, both featuring Rymme, one for Tech and one for Crosshair, I'll probably feature the other OCs in the rest of the prompts. I also DID do them both in color now. Original sketch moved to the bottom if you want to see it.

The chapters are "The Arrest" and "Shadows of the Past!" It's time to finally get some partial answers. Unfortunately you will have to wait until next week to get the entire villain monolog explanation but the last piece of the puzzle is revealed this week. I'm super excited for you all to get to read the ending but also so sad that its over :( I haven't been writing much lately so I don't have anything to post once this is done... Hopefully I'll have time to post some more artwork here though! Also no chapter excerpt this week because its just too many spoilers at this point.

Chapter Excerpt (Neva POV)

(Excerpt has been slightly modified to remove spoilers)

“How did they figure out they needed to cut power to bypass your camera system? I thought you said it was undetectable.” Neva asked.

“That would appear to be the flaw. Rather than assuming it had not been tampered with, the fact that it was undetectable only told the smugglers that if I were monitoring them, the only thing they could do to stop me was cut the power. I did not account for the fact that my reputation might be known.” Tech said.

“Well… the republic advertisements for the Victory to the Republic Games did paint you as some sort of genius hacker who could do anything.” Neva said. “Even regular people know you’re smart.”

“Obviously.” Tech answered.

They moved to the other storage hatch. When no droids were found there either, they checked the storage rooms in the convention wing, next to the unused catering kitchen. Then Tech suggested they try maintenance, in case Waign knew anything. They had to be careful though. Waign was still a prime suspect. Though Neva thought that was less likely now… He never would have done anything to hurt a fellow employee.

“Waign?” Neva called as they entered the very cluttered space. The supposedly deadly netting that had been spread out across the floor the last time she’d been here, had been cleaned up.

“Neva?” Waign’s voice called out faintly from a far back corner behind rows and rows of storage shelves stacked with every mechanical and electronic component and doodad Neva had ever seen and then some. Some of them didn’t look like anything that would be needed for the arena. Neva swore she saw engine parts.

They approached the back where they found the rodian searching through a shelf packed with small buckets of little mechanical pieces. Hand half in a bucket counting out a number of small metal bolts, he barely glanced over at their group before flinching back and nearly spilling the bucket.

“What have you done to it!?” He cried out in alarm, pointing at Bait.

“You said I couldn’t keep a battle droid. He is no longer a battle droid!” Neva said. Neva really didn’t get why Waign had such a big issue with this. He looked as stressed as he had the day Mr. Harpens had dropped the news that he’d have to completely rewire every charge port system in the arena to meet some new safety requirements; like as if she’d personally doubled his workload. She thought misplacing a hundred droids might be a bigger issue than one of them showing up in a pink paint job, though.

“Weren’t you the one who was furious with Thaj for not booking you as a competitor in the last droid derby?” Waign asked, “Now you have one as a pet? Does he know you wanted to demolish a bunch of his unarmed buddies?”

“First of all, he’s not a pet.” Neva said, “Second, I would never join a droid derby now! Bait has changed me!”

“I’m important.” Bait said.

Chapter Excerpt (Tech POV)

Once downstairs, Neva led the four of them to the hatch containing the other droids without missing a single turn. She appeared to have the area as well mapped out as Tech did, only she did not require a helmet HUD displaying a rendering of the area. He would assume it came from years of living in the arena, if only he wasn’t acutely aware that none of the others could navigate as well. Yet more proof that civilians, with their unique strengths and weaknesses, were more alike to him and his brothers than their actual DNA kin.

“General Neva, is this a stealth mission?” Bait asked loudly.

“Yes, so shhh.” She answered.

“Why does he get to be so loud then?” Bait complained, pointing at Wrecker.

“Hey!” Wrecker said; complaint loud enough that any semblance of a stealth mission was immediately lost.

“Am I important to the mission, Commander?” Bait asked. Tech did not recall programming the droid to ask for validation.

“Very important.” Neva answered.

“Is he important?” Bait asked, pointing at Wrecker again.

“Sure.”

“More important?”

“Nah.”

“HEY!” Wrecker said again.

“Only teasing Wrecker.” Neva said.

“I’m not teasing.” Bait said plainly in a tone that, for a droid, sounded suspiciously similar to Neva’s. That could explain the behavior. It had imprinted on her.

Next chapter is out woooooo!!! These next two chapters I am very fond of because they feature mostly Echo and Arria! They really don't get enough love in this fic... Hope you all enjoy!

Chapter Excerpt (Echo POV, at 79s)

Echo hesitated. Fox stared at a datapad and sipped clear liquid from a tall glass. Water, probably, though no one but Echo would assume that. No one else knew this was a business meeting. Should he just sit down with Arria? How would Fox respond to that? Echo hardly knew what he was like as a commander. The one thing Echo knew about Fox, he couldn’t think about right now, or he wouldn’t be able to get this done. He had a report to give; he had to find out if their orders had changed, and then he had to leave.

“Him?” Arria asked, gesturing to Fox.

“Yeah.” Echo nodded. Arria stared at Fox for a moment, then looked back at Echo, and Echo still didn’t move. Arria shrugged, and then, before Echo could tell her not to, she walked briskly up to the booth and slid into the seat across from Fox. Echo supposed that was that, then.

Echo started walking over as Fox looked up in surprise.

“I’m sorry, I’m saving this table for someone.” Fox said.

Echo slid onto the same bench, taking the seat next to Arria.

“The someone is here.” Echo said, forcing himself to meet Fox’s eyes.

Fox narrowed his eyes, stared at Echo, then at Arria, recognized her, and then looked back at Echo. “What is she doing here? What does she know?”

“Everything.” Echo answered bluntly, refusing to be amused by the look of sheer bewilderment on Fox’s face.

M'rina is a very cool OC by @loganpine and you can check out her reference here. Hope you don't mind I felt like she needed a speeder bike... Does she like caff? If so, how does she take it? The answer is what's in that cup. The background could be any city world but I was thinking of Coruscant. I'm having a lot of fun with the lighting/rendering on these :D

I remembered to turn timelapse on again so enjoy me failing on pose ideas for the second time since I stated posting these. Is this going to be a thing every time? Maybe. Should I wait to start the timelapse till after I've settled on a pose and finished the sketch? Probably... but I feel like watching my pain is more fun.
