this Asian American family of 3, all grown adults, leave their corner store that they’re so concerned about being stolen from, to chase down a 14 year old Black boy for what they ASSUMED was a $1.00 bottle of water, and shot him dead when the boy brandished gun he had on him to warn them back and protect himself, and instead of letting him go and leaving well enough alone, the father came and shot that boy dead.

the surveillance video of first, the mother following Cyrus around the store, and then all three of them running out behind him with threatening looks on their faces is insane. absolutely disgusting.

American nonblack poc show us time and time again that our lives are worthless to them, but not our labor, nor our creations. Black children and teens cant even go to the convenience stores in our own neighborhoods safely. Businesses owned by nonblack ppl in Black neighborhoods; only able to be financed bc banks deem them better to lend to than Black Americans. Money that doesn’t get put back into the Black communities these people choose to operate in bc white ppl didn’t want them in their neighborhoods making a mint.

when have Black ppl across the diaspora ever been able to benefit from the fruits of our own labor without extraction or undercutting from nonblack communities?
