you and a lot of others, it seems 😭 i can understand it though! ltye!roman and gmar!mari truly are the embodiment of opposites attract. even more so than roso.

hmmmm. well, in this scenario, roman is probably still trying to figure out/deny his feelings for mari, so at the same time he's being a dick, he's also "trying" in his own....roman sort of way. however, he's a naturally possessive man at his core. even more, the idea of another man giving the tribal chief's wife a gift like that is unacceptable to him. i think roman would def go have a meeting with ole dude. he wouldn't hurt him.....i think. but def a strong ass warning.

i can also see him also buying her some expensive ass necklace. on some, "look. i got you something way better than that trash he got you." he wouldn't give it to her though. like, it'd be waiting on the counter in the kitchen or something.

no, it would be angst city for sure! 😭 probably would kinda tie into that idea we'd discussed forever ago where, after a hit on his life fails, lei goes to talk to roman and they have another heart to heart. imagine, this big blowup happens first, and roman is trying to give lei the space he needs to calm down so they can talk for real, the attempted hit happens, and that's how it all plays out 🥺

leelei sighs. is tempted to roll his eyes and almost does as such, but his dad following up and doubling down spares him from some sort of lecturing comment for said eye roll.

"is this some type of fucking joke?"

at that, lei breaks his silence. "since when have you known me to joke?"

it's the retort he keeps to himself, already knowing it would already exacerbate a tense situation.

"lei, i thought you wanted to go straight into college," celeste comments, but a quick look at his mom explains why she sounds distracted. she is. phone in hand, fingers moving easily and speedily. she's texting. or maybe just replying to an email. either way, she's not paying attention.
