Look. I know there's some sour grapes since the desicion to leave it out definitions, but the label qualifications never changed. I take responsibility for not mentioning my intentions to edit sooner, but all of the qualifications have been mentioned previously.
A big reason why I did this was because this concept had the community split in half. In this volitile state, I feel it's imperative the definition reflects it's optionality. That way, it's understood as an avenue of expression, rather than a required interest.
It also follows the same reasoning why Virago and Mollis are seperate identities because of the heavy emphasis we place on GNC identity outside of relationships. This is in line with our asexual/aromantic Virago and it's status as a gender identity for GNC people and masculine women in particular.
Taking you aside for a moment:
Do you all remember when I told you I'd be promoting the label offline? Turns out, that is exactly what I did using the carrd and notes I use for this blog! There were various reactions, but of those who understood the concept, the majority were vocal how the specific language for RR felt confusing. As one of the primary figures here creating terminology, a large chunk of this responsibility falls back on me. Hell, most people thought role reversal WAS the label, and related it to their own relationships that definitively didn't apply.
As it were, that balance wasn't clear because of how often role reversal was mentioned. Every other line had references to role reversal. There was too much comparison and so little substance taking space for concepts that've been fleshed out.
I love and respect this community enough to appreciate the various perspectives we've shared over time.
To value this, I need to be brutally honest with you all:
The way we've begun to talk about this label has shifted into self interest.
There's a reason why I answer so many questions is to create a catalogue. Virago isn't just about hetgnc people. It isn't just about black bisexuals. It isn't about gnc women. It isn't just about whatever you are.
There are so many other expressions of the label that I explained. Please please pleaaaase go read.
I've never recieved this much anonymous hate before announcing the edit. Please look through my FAQ! Solidarity is why there are so many things that are related sharing one name. Many of you here don't fit the label once, but twice or more! Looking out for others similar to you is the whole point.
As for RR, It's still in there, and I'll find proper ways to introduce it, but the desicion to cut down it's prominence is final. (Seriously, every other line had mentions of role reversal.)
Nooothing has changed definition wise. It's still important. I'm kind of getting tired of receiving threatening asks all because this.
