Then we have Lalah, who he by CCA has this perception of her being above everything, someone who could've been a mother to him.

When in reality, Lalah was a friggin child who he rescued and Lalah formed this love towards him and a need to pay back what he did for her which is why she fights for him.

She was seventeen but seventeen is still a child, girl shows the emotional maturity of a seventeen year old when she meets Amuro and her observations of the world.

Also, Char put a child into a war only for her to sacrifice himself to protect him, threw a pity party for himself because woe is me and placed all the blame of her death onto another child despite Amuro killing her by accident because he was aiming for him.

He has nobody to blame but himself for how his life turns out, putting the blame on everyone except him and when consequences and responsibillity rears its face, he runs away instead of confronting.
