Reboot

All of my previous settings were left in my previous laptop after buying a new workstation for 3d modelling. Starting fresh, I opted for default-setting-rendering just for basics. I’m applying this setup to a few commissions for practice and for efficiency reasons. I did quite get lost a bit on the HDRI settings and the lighting, but I did get the hang of it days later. Using visopts and viropts didn’t work this time and ended my render with a pitch-black sky. It’s a fun ride trying to find my way again on this new workstation.

Proposed Multi-purpose Hall

One of my first official projects. This is the comparison between the rendered scheme and the un-rendered scheme. Both were presented side-by-side to see the details and the process how it was designed and to see the actual visual presentation through rendered image. I usually use a comparison when it comes to proposal presentations for the client to fully understand how my design works.

Wooden Cage Stand

Designed for my cats’ cage. Material used are mostly marine plywood including the roof and the covers are fiber cement boards. The covers are detachable and are placed if the weather is cold especially at night or when a storm comes or even simple raining. I placed a flat wooden roof as well to prevent any unwanted object or substance from coming into the cage from above. The legs was for the cage to not be in contact on the ground to avoid insects and even flooding.

Brand Logo Drafts

To solidify my line of work, a brand logo is essential. I had to to it simple, understandable and memorable. A (without a horizontal bar resembles a roof) and J stands for the two letters of my first name which also is carried by my studio name, so it is appropriate. Without relying on pre-produced fonts, ideas were conceived through sketching in a graphing paper before drafting it on AutoCAD.

An alternative test rendering on a file I worked with Scanline before using 3ds Max 2013. I applied different materials on each model and tried to redesign the area and render it through Mental Ray. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish it since I was not happy with the lighting. I'm planning to finish this image soon. This is only a sample render hence the low resolution.
