"Should I tell you about the time Appa accidentally swallowed me?" Aang asked with a light laugh, slipping gracefully from Appa's back. He stepped forward and wrapped Zuko in a firm, familiar hug, giving his shoulder a reassuring pat. "You look like you've been carrying the whole world again." Pulling back just enough to meet his old friend's eyes, his smile softened. "I was hoping all those meditation sessions would've rubbed off on you by now."

“It takes energy to keep warm,” he grouses back, his inner fire only able to do so much for keeping warm for such a long period of time. “Didn’t you pack blankets or a fur or something besides optimism and... trail mix?” He says, looking through the sparsely packed bags.

"What can I say? There's nothing the fires of friendship and optimism can't do." Aang said with an easy smile. He rummaged through his bag for a moment before pulling out an extra blanket and handing it over. Truthfully, he was cold too, but making sure his friends were comfortable always seemed more important than his own discomfort.

"Here, take this." He nudged the blanket toward Zuko. His gray eyes sparkled with amusement before he dug through his pack again. "Need some food too? I think I've still got a few snacks left. Sokka hasn't found all of them yet, so that's a good sign." Aang laughed softly. "Unless Appa got to them first."

“Ugh, this is taking forever,” Zuko bemoaned, hugging his arms around himself while his jaw shook from a restrained chattering of his teeth. “It’s freezing. How much longer is this going to take?”

"Aww, is someone getting a little grumpy?" Aang teased with a bright grin. "You'd think all that firebending would keep you warm, Zuko." He chuckled, pulling Zuko's cloak a little tighter around himself. "We'll get there when we get there, I guess. No point worrying about it now—might as well enjoy the trip!"
