Hey guys! Here's update number #4 for my indiegogo campaign. In this video we talk about the clothes we got for the superhero costumes. Be sure to share the campaign and donate if you can! There's only 60 hours left and there are some cool incentives you can get.Â

Hey guys, here's the third update to my superhero mockumentary, Kicker. Here I introduce Cloe Xhauflaire, who will be playing a high school french teacher. She's really cool and from Belgium! It's exciting.Â
A bit behind schedule, but here's update #2 to Kicker. Here, I introduce Chris Callahan, who will be playing the part of The Finnisher, the supervillain in my film.
Hey guys, I've got an update for you guys. Today I met with my actors and I had a read through session of the script and talked about motivation of characters and costumes, and other pre-production stuff. At the end of the meeting, I got a small interview with each of them to talk a little bit about themselves and the film itself.Â
This first video is of my lead, Otoja Abit, who is playing the superhero Feather Weight.Â

Funding an SVA thesis mockumentary about a local superhero and the high school French teacher who inspired him.
hey guys! My indiegogo campaign just went live. It would mean a lot to me if you donated. If you can't donate, then please spread the word. This film is very important to me, and I would love to be able to fund it.
Fixer - An SVA Film
Hey guys. I know I haven't been posting in a long time. I kind of fell off tumblr. It's partly due to my thesis film. I am in pre production currently and it's been tough work. I'm going to have to raise money to be able to shoot it, so I decided to start an indiegogo campaign. The goal of my campaign is to raise $2000. It seems like a lot to me, but I think I'll be able to achieve it. I'm currently editing the video for it, so hopefully it'll be up by this weekend. Please spread the word and let everyone know about the film. I want to let as many people know about this as possible.
To be continued...Â
Thereâs one thing that always bothered me. I donât know if itâs because Iâm usually always positive about things that arenât me, but I usually like movies, tv shows, music, and comics. Itâs a rare occurrence that I will flat out hate on something. From my point of view, someone created something...
You know, Iâm really getting tired of hearing âYou liked that movie?â, âYou donât watch that show?â. âYouâve never heard of this book series?â etc. I like what I like, and I canât absorb everything. I donât need to only watch the best award winning shows, and I donât need to read books to talk about how theyâre âbetter than the movieâ.

thanks, mike. Itâs true. Iâm freaking out because I have zero money for my third year film, and itâs really hindering my progress. I tried to shoot in a newsroom, and the minimum cost was $17,000 per day. I also, canât afford to spend even a hundred dollars on costumes found at thrift stores, if I can even find anything. Then I have to compensate actors for transportation, and pay for a make-up person. On top of all that, I have to buy food for every day of shooting.
Iâve also lost actors to paying gigs, even when they agreed to do my film over a month prior. If I had money from a kickstarter or indigogo, then Iâd be able pay them some and keep them on my project.
And if it werenât enough, I also have a composer and a VFX guy working on my film. The composer is just a friendâs brother and the VFX guy is a computer art major here at SVA. Theyâre going to have to spend a lot of time on my film, and you know what they get? Nothing. I mean, they might get recognition from the short, but thatâs only if anybody sees it. At best, they have reel material.
So, while it is possible to make a film with no money raised, it makes it damn hard to make a film worthy of festivals and such when you canât afford anything.
The people Iâm talking about arenât third year students though. Theyâre freshman with very unclear plans as to where the money is going. I really didnât mean to offend anyone.
Ah. I understand that. I knew people like that freshman year. No offense taken.

3rd year film
So, I am currently at the tail end of the pre-production phase of my third year film here at SVA. It's the most complicated and biggest thing I have ever done. If it comes out nicely, I will be extremely surprised, but also infinitely grateful. I am working with many talented actors and a lot of great classmates are volunteering to be my crew.
My first day of shooting is on January 11th. Once I have some visual stuff to show, I will tease you guys here and there until I have enough for a trailer. I can't even comprehend how excited and scared I am to do this project. It's stuff like this that confirms that I am going into the correct field. I love making films, and I hope that my love for it will help me become successful.Â
So, until next time,
Eric
Revelations
I just realized that I never posted my final project for my second year at SVA. I wrote and directed a short as my final. It stars a fantastic actress, Kerry Miller and my friend, who also revised some of the script, Galen Davis. Please watch it, and share it with everyone. I wanna get my work out there.

Final Project
Well, my shoot for my short film got pushed back until the 25th of February. I had to do it, because I couldn't get a male actor who was available. My first choice still might not be able to make the new date for the shoot, but this time, if he can't make it, I know a fantastic actor who can fill in. I'm actually quite excited.
Also, I have a great DP working with me. He's shot a class assignment with me, and he's quite fun to work with. Also, it doesn't hurt that he already has 90% of the equipment I need. Camera, sound recorder, sound mixer, boom pole, microphone. He's got it all. This is great because that means I only need to sign out a light kit from SVA. This in itself is great since my shooting location is a pretty long walk, so now I have less to take to the set.
Side note, I have a computer now that is actually portable, so hopefully I'll be able to post more info when things develop. I know I saw that all the time, so I hope that this time is true. Talk to you all later.

Ever since Joss Whedonâs space western was canceled back in 2003, its fans â at first, a relatively small contingent, but as time and DVD sales grew, so did the ranks swell â have wondered what could possibly rescue it from the tightly clenched jaws of death. And until now, nothing could....
Well, crap
So, a funny thing happened the other day. Well, maybe not funny, more like traumatic. I went to edit some of my footage from my shoot last Tuesday and my something quite bad happened. Any computer I hooked up my hard drive to wouldn't read the hard drive. All of my footage is there and now I can't access it. That's just great. So, now I can't edit this scene for class and I don't know how my teacher is gonna react tomorrow. I hope it works out, and I'll keep you updated either way.
