I just watched the movie Man Finds Tape (2025) on Tubi and while I had fun, it was definitely one of the movies I’ve ever seen.
I’d say if you’ve got about 1.5 hours to kill and you’re not really against a loose plot, you should check it out.
I will say there’s a trypophobia element very briefly so just be aware if that’s one of your things.
Idea: A Mockumentary Show Where Every Season is Just Someone From Modern Day Having Culture Shock Because Nothing is Like What Hollywood Said
There's an overarching storyline each season and overall just because I demand quality, but all the interviews are just people from the time period going 'this poor man does not understand that we bathe' or 'this man, or maybe fae, is jesting us like we are fools, but he is the fool for we are not amused'.
Ancient Greece season is the season where the person keeps trying to convince people not to paint their statues, and then cries every time they fail.
Ancient China season the person keeps going into shock because there's things like street food vendors and then finds out the wealthy eat ice cream sometimes.
Ancient Native America season is when they learn Native Americans were smart and had trading routes and stuff, and that the guy learns he isn't a badass manly man because he can't even pull draw the bow string far enough back to shoot, let alone use it.
A season where the person joins a voyage and learns Christopher Columbus is actually a neckbeard 'nice guy' of his time. It's just the person going from excited about 'Columbus sailed the ocean blue' and getting to join the voyage, to a person staring into the camera every time Columbus throws a tantrum, is horrible at math, threatens anyone who told him he hadn't managed to sail to Asia. The season ends with the person being interviewed, and in the background you can see Columbus being arrested by the Spanish Crown.

Pinocchio
This is one of the main set designers describing what the inside of the MF is meant to be like. I understand he is describing the scenario that Pinocchio is in is similar, but Idk, I find it funny that he uses the one example to be about a character whose nose grows when he lies.

Director Statement: In high school for a painting course one of the assignments was to recreate a painting of our choice, not to present it as our own work, but to practice our skills of intentional depiction, as well as observation. Though this was a technique for practicing the visual arts, I continued to explore this in many creative endeavors including creative writing and music. Later on I became aware of my love of parody and drew parallels between that and this practice I learned from painting. In honesty, this "piece" is part of a long series of works that parodies, and sometimes pays homage to, various kinds of art and visual culture. Here, with a desire to entertain myself and my audience and a secondhand need to document some strange happenings in my life, I decided to parody the sort of overly dramatic "documentaries" that I sometimes found myself accidentally watching on The History Channel or Discovery Channel as a child. In general I'm also parodying the concept of "new media" and of formalizing or bringing into academia something I'll call "vernacular" visual culture, such as social media videos. Just to make sure everybody is aware, I'm relatively fine and the situation depicted in the video is being handled, though I'm sure many would like it to be handled sooner haha!
