Luffy does not hate.

Luffy does not hate and does not resent because he chooses not to.
You see, Luffy wants to be free. The freest person on the ocean.
And hatred, regrets, resentment and rage are ugly ugly things to shackle unto oneself and Luffy understands that better than most.
So he wants to be free of any and all burdens in life.
So it’s a choice Luffy makes not to hate and chooses not to carry resentment in his heart for his rivals, foes and enemies.
He will let it all go and bury it before he chooses to take a step forward.
Always always forward.
Because Luffy wishes to be free and in all the best most poignant ways he already is.

I love how Luffy’s entire prerogative to being a pirate is “A Pirate is free to do whatever they want and please”
And Luffy, the precious bean, chooses to do good not because it’s the right thing to do but because it’s what he wants to do and no one can stop him.
Also, Law….. you saw this man decide to save a country from a tyrant all in one second because someone chose to feed him and he wished to pay them back with their freedom.
You saw this man put his life on the line to take up the mantle and fight even when he had nothing to gain from it.
You saw this man punch a celestial dragon in the face because he was being an entitled jerk in the worst possible way that everyone could see but couldn’t do anything about.
What made you think that Luffy would keep quiet and stick to the plan the second he stepped foot into Wano and saw what an oppressed country with no food or water or any human rights it really was?
