How long have you been doing music? I've been doing music for 5 going on 6 years. What made you decide to go that direction? I just love music. The feeling you can get from a good song. I was also very inspired by my father (Voxx) who has still been killing the game. What is your insperation for being in the music industry? It just comes to me. Once I hear a beat. Or melodic sound, it really has 5-10 seconds to catch my attention but once it hits, it hits hard. When your not in the studio what music do you listen to? I love bands like Chevelle, Blindside, Chiodos, killswitch engage. Really anything if it sounds good to me Did you ever thing you will make a dent like you have? To be honest, I didn. I had no idea but once things started to catch on i was thrown off. But then had to put myself in that mindset of well. If this is where it's going lets capitalize and make the most out of this. It was all for the love. Then the business side started to launch. How did you come up with the single Life of the Party?: this track was a track that really did just hit me. The saying happened was, I started seeing where this was going and being in my hometown. I went from a kid noone paid any attention to. I actually used to get bullied and no-one really cared. But once the skating I do took off as well as the music and people would reach out to me, message me, or see me in public and would get excited seeing me and would give me free stuff from places id go out to and people actually wanting me around. I felt like I became the life of the party. So it was perfect timing. What is your future goals for success? I want to tour around the world. Not only performing shows, but skateboarding. I love skating, so to travel and see new places experience new cultures would be insane. If you could ever do a callabo with any artist who would it be and why? If I could collab with anyone. It'd be J.cole, Logic, Dizzy Wright, Wu tang clan, Redman, Danny Brown, Drake, Kendrick, and the list goes on (laughs) What advice can you give other who may follow your foot steps? Keep going. You'll find every reason to stop. There will be a lot of things to happen to "Justify" why you'd want to quit. But don't. If you feel this is really your calling. Don't stop. Push man Push! 11 #1 Hits Over 30 Soundtracks songs. Now fabulous & fresh Freddie Jackson arrives with a love movement. For urban contemporary listeners and music critics alike; there is no doubt which R&B artists deserve a place among the greatest of all time. Freddie Jackson mastered the art of chart domination during the mid to late 80's, and today continues proving his distinction as one of the Top 50 Greatest R&B Singers (Billboard 2017). The proof is in the phenomena: a Billboard chart resume that boasts 18 songs in the Top 10 with 10 songs rocketing to #1, a 3x Grammy Nominee, and an American Music Award winner. The Harlem native's star first appeared on the horizon in 1985, after releasing his debut album, Rock Me Tonight (Capitol Records). Before that, life appeared ordinary enough behind the scenes with a word processing job, train rides to do session work, and backup singing gigs throughout New York nightclubs. Despite a brief stint at the start of the 80's on the west coast, as lead with the R&B band Mystic Merlin, it was back on native soil that Jackson would launch his career. Once again, his gospel-bred musical connections would play a key role in his destiny. Even while singing backup for Melba Moore, it was fellow church member and friend Paul Laurence at Hush Productions, who joined to shape Jackson's own turn at center stage. As a talented record producer and songwriter, Laurence realized enough was enough and pulled Jackson from behind both a typewriter and other acts; penning him a hit with the title track for what would become Jackson's debut album-"Rock me Tonight". Even after shooting to #1 and sitting there for six weeks, Jackson wasn't done hitting the charts. He quickly won urban contemporary radio's heart with, "You Are My Lady"-a second straight R&B topper that became his highest ranked single on the Pop charts-hitting # 13. He quickly followed up with, "He'll Never Love You (Like I Do)" and "Love Is Just a Touch Away", while sending them both straight to R&B Top Ten. The debut LP reigned over the R&B album charts, going platinum. His phenomena persisted after a duet with Melba Moore, "A Little Bit More" shot to #1 R&B, and he backed it with yet another platinum-smash aptly titled, Just Like the First Time, in 1986. This is when Jackson appeared musically magical with the success of the album's singles, charting: "Tasty Love", "Have You Ever Loved Somebody", and the soother, "Jam Tonight"-all hitting #1 as if he planned it. Even, "I Don't Want to Lose Your Love" went to #2. During the tail end of the 80's, on into the 90's, what appeared to be a slowing of Jackson's hits on the charts, was actually a shift in his music's placement-a word Jackson says is the key to not just performance but life. Radio listeners still got albums such as the 1988, Don't Let Love Slip Away-which introduced hits of the singles, "Hey Lover", "Nice and Slow", and "Crazy (For Me)". By 1990, Jackson's, Do Me Again, an album with the hit track, "Main Course", topped at #2. He released 1992's, Time for Love, with the soul remake,"Me and Mrs. Jones" (later a soundtrack addition). By the time he signed with RCA/BMG Records in 1993, he was making worldwide appearances at a record pace. He even gave fans a Christmas album, before leaving to record Private Party with Scotti Brothers Records in 1995. There, the next album's single, "Rub Up Against You" rose to the Top #25 R&B. While critics questioned the change of chart-topping agenda, fans saw, as much as heard, the hit maker in film and on TV in tandem with his radio releases. From the start, the pattern of simultaneous media and music appeared, such as with the syndicated special, "The 1985 R&B Countdown", hosted by Whitney Houston to the following year playing himself and singing, "He'll Never Love You (Like I Do)" on the daytime drama, "One Life to Live"-Jackson was a constant presence. By 1988, he joined other world-renowned legends in celebrating Freedomfest: Nelson Mandela's 70th Birthday Celebration. This kicked off a subplot to his life story-that of a popular singer pulled at a superhuman pace between the stage and the big and small screens. When cross-referencing his music with the movies and TV, one clearly sees Jackson stayed in heavy demand. Once he seized the era and the airwaves with a number of hits, even film and TV audiences couldn't get enough. Not limited to recording ballads aimed at adults; over 30 motion picture and television soundtracks-such as kid's favorite, All Dogs Go to Heaven-feature his acclaimed vocals as well. Not content with his music alone, producers and directors spent the next decade tucking Jackson into scenes with his hits-from popular sitcoms like Family Matters, and The Golden Girls, to feature films. After appearing with his song, "All Over You" in the low budget horror film, Def by Temptation in 1990, he went from light camp to serious cinema with King of New York (his song "Dream On" included) alongside heavy-hitters like Wesley Snipes, Laurence Fishburne, and Christopher Walken. In 2000, he eased into the new millennium still grooving up broadcasts as he performed his classic, "Rock Me Tonight" on Love & Basketball. By the following year The Jazz Channel Presents Freddie Jackson aired, highlighting his greatest hits over the decades. Despite all the cinematic adulation, he felt an even greater need to stand by his music recording-despite the changing tides in R&B over the years. When Hip-hop's popularity began to shoulder in on the genre's position, a few artists like Jackson wisely rolled with the new trends-even throughout his seemingly silent, post #1 hit domination era. While a few of his industry peers began crossing over to Pop charts, he took the change from a different approach by blending his vocal prowess with various newly emerging R&B and even Hip-hop talents. From the 1991 EPMD/Tracie Spencer tracks, "Love Me Down" and "Main Course" to Mikki Howard/Da Youngsta's 1992 releases, "I Could Use A Little Love (Right Now)" and "Can I Touch You", as well as the 1995 Brownstone/Kut Klose jams, "Come Home II Us" and "Rub Up Against You". Having made numerous rounds of major TV shows-from Top of the Pops, Oprah, to the Soul Train Awards, and even writer/performer on The Tom Joyner Sky Show; with several hit videos of his own-he is at once familiar to fans. His music is kept current over three decades even via the digital age, such as his hit, "Have You Ever Loved Somebody" being placed in the video game, Grand Theft Auto IV, in 2008. Eventually, like many major artists in the Internet dominant age, Jackson created independently produced projects, gaining more control over both his life and his career-while still charting songs in the Top 100's including, Life After 30 (#81 R&B, 1999), It's Your Move (#45 R&B, 2004), and Transitions (#26 R&B, 2006). By 2010, he released the single, "I Don't Wanna Go", from the Barry Eastmond produced, For You, an album off the Entertainment One Music label. In 2012, the TV series Unsung featured The Life of Freddie Jackson, who in turn gave a new audience of fans yet another single two years later with Climax Entertainment entitled, "Love & Satisfaction". His current release-Love Signals-offers longtime fans and new listeners alike just that-a melodic offering of love in a multitude of styles. From the orchestral openings to the instrumental driven collaborations with master musician Gerald Albright on "Hold Me Tonight"-each song is a pulse of passion and light. "All I Wanna Do" will surely become the new anniversary anthem, while his most global track to date, "Save The Babies" asks this tumultuous era's most pertinent question: 'Who is going to save the child?' Coming from a master crooner, Love Signals aims to be a beacon sent out by one of R&B's brightest and ever-evolving stars-proving fabulous Freddie Jackson is still fresh enough for today. Geffen Records has had several incarnations over the years, and another one begins today: the storied record label is relaunching with veteran A&R exec Neil Jacobson as president. The move was exclusively announced to Billboard by John Janick, chairman of Interscope-Geffen-A&M. "Geffen Records has always represented the true entrepreneurial spirit of the music business," Janick said in a statement. "Neil's commitment to artistry, his drive, and his ability to see and create new opportunities for our business make him the perfect choice to take the helm at Geffen, a label that is such an important part of the collective legacy of our company." Jacobsen has been with Interscope for some 15 years, working in international publicity and marketing before moving over to management and A&R. Over the years he's signed LMFAO and DJ Snake, managed Will.I.Am (and also ran his label), Robin Thicke and hitmakers Jeff Bhasker (Fun., Kanye West, Mark Ronson) and Emile Haynie (Lana del Rey, Father John Misty, Lady Gaga, Kid Cudi). "I've been telling people for 15 years that one day I wanted to run Geffen," Jacobson tells Billboard. I always thought Geffen is a special label and David Geffenis a special person. And with Nirvana and Guns N' Roses you're talking about my favorite artists of all time." The label's initial roster includes Avicii, DJ Snake, AlunaGeorge and several developing artists, including L.A.-based outfit B00ty. Geffen was founded by its namesake, David Geffen, through Warner Bros. in 1980. The executive had enjoyed spectacular success through the first half of the preceding decade, as his Asylum label became the focus of the Southern California soft-rock that dominated FM radio during the era (its roster included the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne and many others). In 1975 Geffen left to pursue an unsuccessful stint as a vp at Warner Pictures and then had a cancer scare, but returned full-force to the music business with his eponymous label. Its first signings were two of the biggest artists of the time, Donna Summer and John Lennon, the latter of whom was murdered just days after the release of Double Fantasy, his album with wife Yoko Ono. The label became one of the most successful of the '80s, with hits from both established artists -- Elton John, Don Henley, Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell -- and, as the decade progressed, hard rock -- Whitesnake, Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith. In the '90s it became an alternative haven, with Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Beck and others. Geffen sold the label to Universal in 1990 for $800 million, and became a billionaire when Universal was purchased by Matsushita the following year. Geffen remained with the company until 1995, although his day-to-day involvement had long since diminished. In 1999 the label was essentially annexed by Interscope and no longer operated as a freestanding unit, although it has been revived occasionally over the years. In the mid-2000s it absorbed several artists from MCA's roster (Mary J. Blige, Blink-182, Common, The Roots) and again in 2011, when it was relaunched as a hip-hop imprint headed by Lil Wayne manager Gee Roberson, although the following year he transitioned to lead Blueprint, a different label within Interscope. A rep for the label told Billboard at the time that new leadership for Geffen would be announced the following year, and now, albeit a few years behind schedule, it has. by Jem Aswad BILLBOARD
Sneak You a Preview! BLUSH WORK MUSIC VIDEO On the heels of their empowerment puncher, "Cinderella", Blush -the latest group to sizzle off Mathew Knowles' Music World Entertainment's hotplate-has listeners sweating and working for it. Their debut album, "Old School Hip-Hop Past, Present, and Future" introduced us to Sunni, Bunni Ray, and vocalist Tali while the late 2017/18 slated reality TV series about the all-female trio's journey takes us deeper inside it. Meanwhile their single, "Work", although released at the start of the year, is about to pick up traction with the steamy video accompanying the song. With the LGBTQ community seeing stronger depictions of their lives via the media, even risqué honesty about same sex love is a welcomed relief. With an openly bi-sexual group member, the video's striptease sequences are not just an answer to the void in representation, they depict the work a woman puts into her commitments-including sexual ones. Having covered the topic of self-esteem and female empowerment in "Cinderella", the group is heading off a subject sometimes ignored-the time, energy, and effort a relationship needs to equal that of one's career. A message with music at once familiar yet all shook up by the beat-heavy mixes the girls expertly sing/rap around. Since their appearance on "The Tom Joyner Show," the Houston based trio have increased their fan base exponentially with a summer 2016 tour covering half the nation, with radio and TV stops along the way. Even with all the immediate comparisons to Destiny's Child, Blush has proven their staying power with back-to-back releases that have established their 90's old school/new school dynamic. It's a throwback sound that will throw your back out dancing. Their beauty, sex appeal, and smarts are only the trimmings to the real work the trio has put in to earn everyone's undivided attention by now. Migos are being sued by a stylist who claims the rappers made off with $20,000 worth of itmes that were used for a video shoot. The video in question is Niykee Heaton’s “Bad Intentions,” which the group were featured in. According to TMZ, the “Bad and Boujee” trio are being accused of taking some pretty pricey items, including three Enfants Riches Déprimés shirts, totaling $18,138, and two pairs of vintage sunglasses (Versace and Les Copains) totaling $700. Stylist Marcus Clark claims he’s made several attempts to get the items back, to no avail. He alleges the only correspondence he got from the group was a text saying, “That’s over wit.” He is suing the group for $1 million in damages. The Migos also might be in hot water, after they reportedly put them paws on Sean Kingston at a club in Las Vegas, earlier this week. A man has since been arrested for firing a gun during the incident. Kingston initially refuted claims he got jumped, but recently opened up to the news about the beating, saying he was caught off guard and pummeled. “They FaceTimed me ‘Yo come outside. Let’s talk like men. I miss you. Let’s chop it up.’” Kingston recalled in an exclusive interview with 8 News Now. “As soon as I went outside it was no talking. They just started jumping on me, throwing punches. I didn’t have a chance to put my set up, I didn’t have a chance to do nothing.” Migos’ new album, Culture, currently sits at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 200.

T-Pain’s Niece’s Suspected Murderer Found Dead In Tallahassee A man suspected of murdering rapper T-Pain's niece last summer has been found dead in Tallahassee, Fla., police say. Law enforcement officials came across the body of Tavon Jackson, 25, in the woods Tuesday during an unrelated search in the area for a separate case, the Tallahassee Police Department revealed in a statement. The department's Violent Crimes and Forensic Units have launched an investigation, but police officials say Jackson's death appeared to be a suicide. They noted the investigation remains in the early stages. Police had been searching for Jackson since August in connection to the killing of 23-year-old Javona Glover, who was stabbed to death outside a West Tallahassee Walgreens store, where she worked. T-Pain, who was Glover's uncle, urged his followers to help police locate the killer after his niece's untimely death. "The police are still lookin for the coward ass n----r that just killed my niece at Walgreens in Tallahassee. If you got info pls help out," the rapper, whose real name is Faheem Rashad Najm, tweeted in August. Authorities released three photos of the suspect inside the Walgreens shortly after Glover's death. Jackson was Glover’s ex-boyfriend, according to the Tallahassee Democrat. Glover was the mother of a 2-year-old little girl. SOURCE
The Weeknd Takes A Shot At Justin Bieber In New Song “Some Way”
He’s definitely not saying sorry. The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, 26, seems to taunt Justin Bieber, the ex of his new girlfriend Selena Gomez, in a new track called “Some Way” with artist Nav.
The Weeknd provided guest vocals on the song, and fans quickly discovered that he might be talking to someone in particular.
“I think your girl, think your girl, fell in love with me,” he sings in the first verse. “She say my f–k and my tongue game a remedy.”
The chorus of the song finds The Weeknd singing, “I just took that chick, and I know you feelin’ some way / She just want a ni— like me, you feelin’ some way.” Nav gets in on the action, too, singing, “The brown boy and the Starboy on a track / Haters gonna say this s–t is wack.”
“Wack” — the word choice is very deliberate — as Bieber, 22, has described The Weeknd’s music as such.
The feud began after it became obvious that the 26-year-old was dating the popular singer, Gomez, 24.
In an Instagram chat during the Grammys (the artist boycotted the show), Bieber told fans that a favorite song of his was The Weeknd’s “Starboy” — only to laugh and dismiss the statement. “We gotta end it now. That was too funny,” Bieber laughed.
Although up for awards at the Grammys, Bieber skipped them, calling the affair “pointless.” The singer, known for songs like “Sorry,” “Baby” and “Boyfriend,” told TMZ last month that he “can’t listen to” a Weeknd song, because “that’s just wack.”

Drake Denies Disrespecting Muslim Fans At London Show Drake has responded to rumors that he disrespected a Muslim fan at a recent show in London. In a statement issued to XXL by his reps, the Toronto rapper vehemently denies claims that he told a Muslim fan to remove her hijab. “I make a point every night to end my shows on a time of unity and love, so to find out that I am being utilized in a fake media story about me disrespecting Muslims is devastating to me,” Drake said in the statement. “At my show in the O2 in London, I was talking to four women, one of whom was wearing a jacket and a winter scarf. I made a comment about taking off the scarf because I enjoy a friendly banter with the fans. I am well aware of what a hijab is and I would never make a disrespectful comment like that in my life towards someone who is wearing one. I am proud that my closest friends and fans come from all different religions and races, perhaps whoever made up this story should spend more time learning about other cultures and less time trying to divide us.” In a video circulating online, it is impossible to tell what the fan was wearing while at the rapper’s concert. Drake’s comment can be heard clearly though. “I see you four girls right there,” Drake says. “I hope you having a good time. You got on that hot ass scarf right there, you gon’ have to take this off. You gotta turn this muthafucka up. You don’t have to come out with that shit." Drake’s alleged offense to Muslims comes at an odd time since he just denounced President Donald Trump and spoke of unity at another show in London. Maybe this is why it was so offensive coming from him …….. SOURCE
Offset From Migos Gets Kicked Off His Flight Offset from Migos just got kicked off a commercial flight ... and he claims it's all because he was talking on the phone. The rapper posted an angry vid Saturday going IN on American Airlines claiming he was removed from a flight just because he was talking on the phone before take off. Of course -- depending on where the plane was in its departure procedure -- Offset may have been violating the rules. Quavo and Takeoff -- the other members of Migos -- were on the Dallas-bound plane too and stayed on after Offset was removed. It's been a rough week for the airline, you'll remember, Jason Derulo claimed racism Wednesday after cops were called for a situation with his luggage. An official at the airline told TMZ Offset was removed after refusing to get off his phone. He was loud, disruptive and began cursing. SOURCE
Vivica A. Fox's 'Black Magic' Partner Bails After 'No Gays' Comment by WORLD WRAP FEDERATION 9 hours ago Vivica A. Fox pissed off the director and producer who made her male stripper reality show possible -- Jean-Claude LaMarre is cutting ties with her after she said gay men aren't welcome at the strip shows. Jean-Claude put Vivica in his movie, "Chocolate City" ... which led to her spinning off 'Black Magic' into a TV show. She was promoting the show last week on "The Breakfast Club" when she strongly objected to the suggestion gays were coming out to see her strippers. As she put it ... "Hell no!" LaMarre told TMZ ... "The comments were out of order, and it does not represent our attitudes toward the LGBT community. All are welcomed." He added, "Vivica speaks for herself not the business or the show." LaMarre will remain an Executive Producer on the reality show, and made it clear he wants 'Black Magic' to succeed -- he just doesn't want to work with Vivica anymore. SOURCE

Meek Mill Speaks About Connecticut Concert shooting Meek Mill has responded to the news reports of a shooting leaving two people dead and two people wounded following his show last night in Connecticut. He is calling the news of people dying at the venue false. “They really trying to slow these bags up, right,” says Meek in a video posted to social media. “Looking at this shit about two people died, two people got shot. A lie. Somebody hating, trying to slow these bags up.” The shooting occurred at a concert in Wallingford, Conn., last night (Dec. 30), leaving two people dead and two other people injured. The Philly rapper was in town performing at the Oakdale Theater. The concert started at 8 p.m. and seemed to go off without a hitch. The venue was reportedly closing down when shots rang out around at 11 p.m., reports MyRecordJournal. In video footage of the shooting that has been obtained by TheShadeRoom, we can see a few people exiting the venue, including one person who has been identified by the camera phone operator as Meek. Shortly into the video, a single shot can be heard, sending everyone in view scrambling for their lives. Police arrived to the scene around 11:15 p.m., and discovered four people shot, two fatally. The two living victims were taken to nearby hospitals where they were treated for their injuries. The four shooting victims have yet to be identified. Early this morning, police were still looking for a suspect/suspects in the shooting. As for Meek, he is off to Miami to perform a New Year’s Eve gig. But not just any gig.
