ॐ Why you should consider making an altar for yourself ॐ

Now, bear with me for a second - I don’t mean you should cover the walls of your witchy room with selfies! (Although that would be kind of funny, and if that’s your thing - do it!) And I don’t say by any means you should become and arrogant piece of “I’m better than you”. But maybe you have the feeling that you’re not living up to your full potential, or you’re longing for a little quality time to spend with yourself, or you simply find that you don’t have enough strengh to fulfill your goals. Of course, all these things can be achieved without a special altar, but to my personal experience, it can be very helpful! :) So, how does it work? Normally altars are used to worship special deities or to practice your craft. The altars I’m talking about are filled with things you enjoy or things that simply lift your mood when looking upon them. Those can be:

~Selfies that make you see how pretty you are ~Pictures of your loved ones (which includes pets, of course!) ~Your favourite CDs/Pens/Copics/Brushes/Candles/Crystals/Figurines…

Anything really!

As you can see, mine is filled with candles and there are also some essential oils that are used for aromatherapy, but whatever you want to put up there, it’ll be just fine! :)

get out of bed because there’s something you’re excited about.

don’t think about people who left.

clean the clutter in the room and dishes in your sink.

smile at yourself and random people.

do something kind and out of the blue to make someone happy.

work out or meet with friends even though you have no energy to.

calm yourself down when your thoughts race.

remember to drink water.

don’t dwell on things you can’t control.

do things good for yourself, even though you have no motivation.

Like I thought I was just acquaintances with this person because they never told me details about themselves and we just talked movies and writing . But then they made time to have coffee with me and they showed up out of breath because they ran. Like. RAN to be on time for coffee with me?

And I was like “i don’t mind waiting” cause I never want to run

But they said they wanted every minute they could get because I’m so busy usually

Which is when it clicked that I didn’t get how much they considered me a friend because I just straight away didn’t see MY signs of affection in them and went “cool! Casual buds it is.” But now that I’m seeing their signs of affection, I feel a little silly for dismissing them like that even though I felt like we could be best bros.

TOUCH got a bro that likes to give high fives? Back slaps? Are they a hugger? Do they not blink an eye at cuddles?

QUALITY TIME this bro will (as op stated) sprint to spend every minute possible with you. Every second that you guys are together is a declaration of affection.

WORDS does your bro tell you how amazing and great and fantastic and wonderful you are all the time? Guess what…?

GIFTS do they buy you coffee? Snacks, energy drinks, spot you at the restaurant? Did that one key chain removed you of them? Ding ding!

ACTS are they always doing things for you? Ie: Nah bro, I got this, I can do that, need me to get anything for you, I can help with…?
