you will see limited range of motion and improvement in aerial arts if u are fat. truthfully. it can make it harder for you to breathe & safely perform tricks. it wears ur joints 2x faster and it can make falls dangerous. this is the truth. i keep seeing videos of fat ppl doing aerial hoop and being upset when someone mentions that body conditioning might be the solution to performing tricks they cannot (safely) do.

idk i wouldn't otherwise be bothered if it weren't for the denial that you will be limited in your tricks and more likely to get hurt. i won't stand for the relentless bullying that fat ppl have to go through in any athletic discipline. constantly encountering the narrative that you should lose weight to enjoy your hobby is the worst

but if u are wondering why you are struggling to do tricks like knee hangs or dead hangs, or keep taking hard falls (which i've seen on video a few times now), and someone brings it up, be realistic. there is an assumption of risk that you take when you do aerial arts and those of us showing concern aren't trying to take away ur agency:/
