Assigned GM At Birth

Had a dnd session I thought went really well. Lots of plot, character developement, a fight, and story progression. The players told me they really enjoyed it! Then later I asked my best friend for feedback. They basically said it was ruined bc they wanted a romantic scene with the npc their character is dating and they didn't get it. And THEN they had the AUDACITY to tell me that I wasn't playing my npc well, bc the npc wasn't being romantic enough, in a situation where that npc wouldn't have been acting romantic.

It's so frustrating setting boundaries as an artist bc you'll present the most mind-blowing work and people will be like "WOAH HOW DID YOU DO THAT???" And it's like well I had time to work on myself.

Me: Writes up several groups of allies for my dnd players which includes, a group of vampire hunters, the mafia, a soveriegn kingdom, and a literal army of demons, who are all ready and willing to help at no cost and have given no inkling of being hostile even when the party attacks them. (All of which to fight a lich king who has and will go to war to destroy his enemies.)

I'm finally getting to play bc one of my players is DMing a campaign! I didn't know the campaign they picked and my character;

One time I was GMing a game and jokingly said I'd give a player inspiration if they shared their garlic knots and they immediately were like "YES AND WOULD YOU LIKE SOME OF MY SAUCE TOO?"
